Ho Chi Minh City Party Committee discusses key tasks and solutions for 2025

Delegates focused on discussing solutions to further improve the quality of Party building and rectification work and the political system, along with the arrangement, consolidation and streamlining of the organizational apparatus.

On the morning of December 4, the Executive Committee of the Ho Chi Minh City Party Committee, 11th tenure, 2020-2025, opened the 34th Conference (expanded), discussing the socio-economic situation in 2024, key tasks and solutions in 2025; Party building, government, and mass mobilization work in 2024, key tasks and solutions in 2025 and a number of other important issues.

In his opening speech, Politburo member and Secretary of the Ho Chi Minh City Party Committee Nguyen Van Nen said that the City's socio-economic results in 2024 showed that with the spirit of solidarity, determination, efforts, proactiveness, flexibility, and drastic leadership, direction, and administration, the City Party Committee and government have promoted internal strength, seized opportunities, overcome challenges, cleared resources, removed many bottlenecks, and together with the business community, overcome difficulties, promoted socio-economic development, and improved people's lives.

These positive results have significantly contributed to the country's efforts to stabilize the macro-economy, control inflation, ensure major balances, maintain national defense, security and social order.

However, according to the Secretary of the Ho Chi Minh City Party Committee, in addition to the achieved results, there are still limitations, weaknesses, and obstacles that need to be overcome to achieve the set goals such as the economic growth rate is not as high as planned, strategic breakthroughs in infrastructure development, and removing obstacles in policy mechanisms have many changes but have not achieved the required progress.

Therefore, delegates need to focus on discussing, researching, and properly evaluating the substance to continue promoting positive results, clearly pointing out the causes of limitations, weaknesses, and obstacles, and proposing specific solutions to overcome them.

Regarding the work of Party building, rectification, government building, mass mobilization work in 2014, tasks and solutions for 2025, Secretary of the Ho Chi Minh City Party Committee Nguyen Van Nen emphasized the need to thoroughly grasp the Resolution of the 10th Central Conference and the direction of General Secretary To Lam on strongly innovating the leadership, management and operation methods of the Party and State in the new era of the nation.

From there, delegates focused on discussing solutions to further improve the quality of Party building and rectification work and the political system towards the goal of innovating the leadership methods of Party committees at all levels and improving the quality of management and administration of governments at all levels, along with arranging, perfecting, and streamlining the apparatus, improving effectiveness and efficiency, and encouraging and protecting dynamic, creative, daring cadres who dare to think and dare to act for the common good.

Secretary of the City Party Committee Nguyen Van Nen also requested the Conference to focus on discussing the Report on the results of 4 years of implementing Resolution 26 of the City Party Committee on investment in construction to complete the Thu Thiem New Urban Area before 2030; focus on giving opinions on evaluating the implementation progress, proposing strong solutions to continue building and perfecting investment calling policies, speeding up the progress of projects, striving to complete the Thu Thiem New Urban Area in accordance with the guidelines, policies and viewpoints set forth by the City Party Committee.

The conference also focused on studying and discussing the Report on the results of 3 years of implementing Resolution 05 of the Ho Chi Minh City Party Committee on the Master Plan for COVID-19 Prevention and Control and Economic Recovery in the City after September 15, 2021 to propose solutions to promote digital transformation; attract and improve the quality of medical human resources, transform employment structure, develop the social security and protection system, and focus on solving the problem of social housing and workers' accommodation./.
