However, SBIC and its units have made efforts to complete their production and business tasks well, many units have jobs until the end of 2027; many newly built products have been launched and delivered such as 65,000-ton bulk carriers, 13,500-ton chemical tankers... Jobs and incomes of nearly 9,000 workers are guaranteed, averaging more than 10 million VND/person/month.
To achieve this result, in addition to solutions for job search and market, SBIC has done a good job of ideological work for employees, partners, and customers before the information on handling businesses according to Resolution 220. From there, employees feel secure in their work, customers trust to continue to cooperate, sign new contracts...
Appreciating and praising SBIC for its very encouraging achievements in 2024, Deputy Minister Nguyen Xuan Sang also requested SBIC to pay attention to implementing key tasks in the coming time. In particular, maintaining and promoting the spirit of deep and substantial solidarity within the entire Party Committee, striving to overcome difficulties, and further promoting effective production and business.
Complete procedures within responsibilities and tasks according to Resolution 220 early to minimize impacts on production and business.
"Pay special attention to the work of preventing corruption and negativity, especially protecting State assets and property rights in the process of handling enterprises according to Resolution 220", Deputy Minister Sang directed and expressed his belief that with efforts and effective solutions, SBIC will continue to achieve more success in 2025.
Chairman of the Board of Members of the Shipbuilding Industry Corporation Pham Hoai Chung emphasized that all SBIC employees will make efforts and determination right from the first months of the year to complete the planned tasks (Photo: Ta Hai).
Mr. Pham Hoai Chung, Chairman of the Board of Members of the Shipbuilding Industry Corporation, said that the world's transportation and shipbuilding market continues to experience a period of growth but is unsustainable and has many potential difficulties. This has greatly affected the investment in building new means of transport by domestic and foreign shipowners.
In particular, partly due to the impact of information on business handling under Resolution 220, some ship owners have stopped implementing shipbuilding contracts signed with SBIC member units, affecting the production and business plans and employment funds of the units.
Private customer groups also face difficulties in capital sources and low freight rates, leading to many ship owners not having plans to invest in building new transport vehicles at the present time. Therefore, although some SBIC units have orders for 2027 and 2028, there are still potential risks.
However, the corporation and its units continue to receive cooperation from a number of foreign shipowners in returning to the export shipbuilding market, responding to the green ship trend, such as shipowners Damen, IHC Netherlands, Korea... As a result, production and business activities have initially achieved positive results.
"In 2025 and the following years, to successfully implement the production and business plan tasks, there will certainly be many difficulties and challenges, especially in the condition that the corporation must both carry out the task of handling enterprises and maintain and promote production and business activities to ensure jobs for employees, maintain the team, and gradually accumulate.
"Employees in the entire corporation must unite and make more efforts to carry out tasks right from the first days and months of the year, resolutely and propose breakthrough coordination solutions, with a spirit of determination and perseverance to excellently complete the tasks and plans for 2025," said Chairman of the Board of Directors Pham Hoai Chung.
