Reporting at the meeting, Major General Nguyen Truong Giang, Director of the Military Medical Department, said: In 2023 and the first months of 2024, the Military Medical sector has proactively advised superiors to issue many legal documents related to the work of building the sector; directed and guided the good implementation of military medical work for combat readiness, epidemic prevention and control, protection and health care for soldiers and people. Military medical agencies at all levels have systematically implemented the work of managing, caring for and protecting the health of soldiers, with the rate of healthy soldiers in the entire army reaching 99.18%. Organizing health check-ups for admission to military schools in 2023 for thousands of students and re-examining health for military recruitment in 2024 to ensure strictness and quality.

The Military Medical Department directs units throughout the army to comprehensively implement population, family and children work, achieving and exceeding the set targets; in particular, supporting more than 400 cases of infertility and sterility working in the Army, with a total amount of nearly 20 billion VND, of which 32% of cases are pregnant. Praising the achievements of the Military Medical Sector in the whole army in the past time, General Phan Van Giang also pointed out the shortcomings that need to be overcome; at the same time, he requested the Military Medical Department to proactively research, evaluate, and accurately forecast the situation, promptly advise and propose plans to ensure that military medicine can serve well the tasks of combat readiness, training, exercises and unexpected tasks. Advise and build the organizational structure of military hospitals in military regions, corps, branches, and preventive medicine departments; build a strong, compact and elite Military Medical Sector; improve the quality of training, coaching, and scientific research, focusing on military medicine; strengthen the medical and defense potential.
