In 2024, Hanoi Medical University plans to open 4 new majors, increasing admission quotas based on graduation exam scores combined with international language certificates.
Associate Professor, Dr. Le Dinh Tung, Head of Training Management Department of Hanoi Medical University, announced the above information on March 9 at an admissions consulting program organized by Tuoi Tre newspaper in Hai Duong.
The four new majors that Hanoi Medical University plans to open include Midwifery, Dental Prosthetics, Social Work and Psychology. In addition, the school plans to offer training in Medical Laboratory Technology and Rehabilitation Technology at the Thanh Hoa branch. Last year, these two majors were only available at the main campus (Hanoi).
Hanoi Medical University maintains the same admission methods as last year, including direct admission, consideration of high school graduation exam scores, and consideration of graduation exam scores with international language certificates.
The combined examination method applies to the majors of Medicine, Dentistry and Nursing in the advanced program. For candidates with international certificates in English or French, the school will apply a lower standard score for the three high school graduation exams than for candidates who only consider the exam scores.
"The new point is that the school plans to reserve 40% of its enrollment quota for the combined admission method," said Mr. Tung. Last year, the enrollment quota using this method was less than 20%.

Currently, the country has nearly 70 schools training in the health sector, of which about 30 schools train in medicine.
Hanoi Medical University always has the highest admission score in the country. The current training majors of the school include Medicine, Dentistry, Traditional Medicine, Preventive Medicine, Nursing, Nutrition, Medical Laboratory Technology, Rehabilitation Technology, Ophthalmology, and Public Health.
Last year, Hanoi Medical University set admission scores based on high school graduation exam results from 19 to 27.73. The highest score was for Medicine, and the lowest was for Nursing at Thanh Hoa branch.
The school has become autonomous, so tuition fees have increased sharply since the 2023-2024 school year. According to the enrollment plan for the previous school year, tuition fees at Hanoi Medical University ranged from 20.9 to 55.2 million VND, while previously it was only 14.5 million VND per year.
