There is an app that lets you buy gas first and pay later.

On September 30, Vietnam Oil Corporation (PVOIL) launched a gasoline purchasing application (app) for individual customers, called PVOIL 4U.

People can use this application to buy gasoline at nearly 900 PVOIL stores and the Comeco system nationwide. Previously, PVOIL developed the PVOIL Easy gasoline purchasing application for transportation businesses and PVOIL B2B for wholesale customers (agents, distributors).

PVOIL said that in addition to the gasoline purchase service, people can use the app to use a number of other utilities such as managing gasoline purchases, searching for gasoline stores, managing their vehicles, looking up traffic fines, and buying vehicle insurance.

Notably, the application also has features for giving away gas coupons, banks providing credit to buy gas...

Accordingly, PVOIL has cooperated with HDBank to provide customers with a pay-later fuel service. The maximum amount approved by the bank is 1 million VND.

Users will be approved without proof of income, just download the application, take a photo of both sides of their ID card and declare some information.

The maximum period for users to pay the loan to PVOIL's banking partner is 45 days from the date of purchase of gasoline. If overdue, customers will be charged interest rates similar to credit cards.

Mr. Cao Hoai Duong, Chairman of PVOIL, said that every year PVOIL supplies the domestic market with more than 5.5 million m³/ton of various types of gasoline and oil, accounting for 22-25% of the domestic market share.

In the Vietnamese market, PVOIL is the second largest petroleum retailer in terms of market share after Petrolimex.

PVOIL expects to reach 120,000 billion VND

According to Mr. Cao Hoai Duong, in 2023, PVOIL grew 27% compared to the previous year. In the first 9 months of 2024, the company maintained a growth rate of 18% and exceeded the set plan by 5%.

Mr. Duong said that although the year is not over yet, this enterprise is confident about setting a new record in revenue, reaching 120,000 billion VND. 3 years ago, for the first time, PVOIL reached the revenue milestone of 100,000 billion VND. In 2023, this enterprise's revenue will reach approximately 110,000 billion VND.

"This year we are quite confident to reach the revenue mark of 120,000 billion VND, even though oil prices are still relatively low," said Mr. Duong.
