On December 19, the Ministry of Industry and Trade and Toyota Vietnam Automobile Company jointly held a ceremony to summarize the Program to support and provide consulting services for supporting industry enterprises.
According to the Ministry of Industry and Trade, the supporting industry is considered to play a very important role in economic development, is a direct driving force in creating added value, increasing the competitiveness of industrial products and accelerating the national industrialization process. Over the past time, the synchronous implementation of solutions to support supporting industry enterprises by the Government has contributed to enhancing the competitiveness of enterprises, improving productivity and product quality, contributing to meeting some of the demand for domestic production.

Speaking at the ceremony, Mr. Chu Viet Cuong, Director of the Industrial Development Support Center, Department of Industry (Ministry of Industry and Trade) acknowledged that in recent times, the Department of Industry has coordinated with Toyota Vietnam Automobile Company (Toyota Vietnam) to implement training and production consulting programs, enhance trade connections to help businesses improve productivity and competitiveness, and participate deeply in the global supply chain and value chain with many significant successes.
Mr. Chu Viet Cuong added that, based on the positive results achieved, the cooperation between the two sides is expected to continue to support many Vietnamese industrial enterprises to improve their management capacity, technical level and restructure production according to experience from Japan, while developing high-quality human resources for the industry.

On Toyota Vietnam's side, Mr. Hitoshi Ugi - Director of Purchasing Division shared that in 5 years of implementation, the project has achieved many positive results. We not only share knowledge and techniques, but also help improve production processes, enhance quality and comply with international standards. This year, after more than 6 months of implementation, the program has achieved results beyond expectations, not only in specific improvements but also in changing management thinking. " This is a solid foundation for businesses to develop sustainably and improve their position, contributing to the development of the supporting industry in general, gradually participating in the global supply chain" - Mr. Hitoshi Ugi said.
In addition, Mr. Hitoshi Ugi added that the cooperation between Toyota Vietnam and the Ministry of Industry and Trade in supporting supporting industry enterprises is part of a long-term strategy to promote sustainable development for the automobile manufacturing industry in Vietnam. Toyota always strives to follow the government's direction, contributing to the development of the Vietnamese automobile supporting industry and constantly strengthening the domestic supplier network to develop the industry in the long term.

During the ceremony, representatives of 5 enterprises receiving support from the program had the opportunity to share in detail the difficulties and challenges they encountered in managing the production process. Thereby highlighting common obstacles in operation and development. At the same time, the representatives also emphasized the positive changes and practical achievements that the program has brought, contributing to improving production efficiency, optimizing processes and creating conditions to promote sustainable development for enterprises. In addition to sharing experiences, the enterprises also expressed their deep gratitude to the organizing units for their dedicated and practical support, helping domestic enterprises strengthen their capacity, overcome difficulties and be ready to rise up in the context of increasingly fierce competition.
Mr. Hoang Huu Yen - Vice Chairman of the Board of Directors - Director of Vietnam Technical and Industrial Group Joint Stock Company (Intech Group) said that Intech Group has received consulting support from Toyota Vietnam experts to re-layout the entire production workshop; support on 5S to ensure that goods are easy to identify, easy to see, easy to do...; reduce wasteful operations with Karakuri Kaizen as well as reduce redundant operations in production and in QC; build a production plan to implement production according to the pull principle, the following department will pull the previous department, thereby increasing productivity and reducing waiting lines.
The support of Toyota Vietnam experts has been helping Intech as well as the remaining 4 businesses improve Kaizen capacity, 5S improvement, and labor safety.
The Department of Industry highly appreciates the efforts and active cooperation of Toyota Vietnam and hopes that Toyota Vietnam will continue to accompany the Ministry of Industry and Trade to promote the strong development of the supporting industry as well as the Vietnamese automobile industry in the future.
