Many textile and garment enterprises have enough orders until the end of the first quarter of 2025, especially some units have orders until May 2025.

According to the General Statistics Office, in January 2025, there were 7 groups of industries with export turnover of over 1 billion USD. Of which, the industrial sector such as textiles and garments ranked 4th with 3.189 billion USD; leather and footwear ranked 5th with 1.89 billion USD. Notably, industrial export enterprises had enough orders by the end of the first quarter of 2025 and partners continued to place orders with a better quantity than last year.

Information from the Vietnam Textile and Garment Group shows that many member enterprises have enough orders until the end of the first quarter of 2025, especially some units have orders until May 2025.

For example, Garment Company 10 achieved export revenue of over VND4,700 billion last year. This year, to achieve the growth target of over 10%, the company had to prepare a plan to expand production and recruit from the beginning of the year.

Mr. Than Duc Viet - General Director of Garment Corporation 10 said: " In 2025, the unit needs to recruit from 3,000 to 5,000 workers for factories in Thai Binh, Thanh Hoa, Quang Binh and right in Hanoi, to increase production force, ensure signed orders, strive to complete the growth target of over 2 digits".

Or like Ca Mau Fertilizer, which started the Spring with the export of 100,000 tons of urea during the low season in the country. This is an impressive "bright spot" to open the new year 2025, demonstrating the efforts and determination of Ca Mau Petroleum Fertilizer Joint Stock Company to reach out to the world. With a flexible business strategy, the company not only balances domestic supply and demand, but also quickly seeks and seizes export opportunities during low seasons like now.

In addition, Ca Mau Petroleum Fertilizer Joint Stock Company has also successfully negotiated 5 cargo ships with a total volume of more than 100,000 tons of urea, of which 2 ships are going to Australia - a fertilizer market considered to be the world's most demanding with a volume of more than 30,000 tons.

With the export spirit at the beginning of the year, Mr. Dang Tran Thuy - General Director of Kyoyo Vietnam Metal Casting Joint Stock Company said: " If in the past customers only ordered a few hundred parts at a time on an order, this year there are orders of over a thousand and there are orders of several hundred thousand products. For the US market, the company has two units that have placed orders before Tet so that we are ready to produce after the Tet holiday ."

Industrial enterprises said that the industry's export characteristics are the large weight of industrial components and high logistics costs to distant markets such as the US and Europe, so optimizing customs clearance time and costs will boost their export efficiency this year.

Expanding exports and adapting to new regulations

Regarding the textile and garment industry, according to the Vietnam Textile and Apparel Association, in addition to traditional customers such as the United States, EU, Japan, China, CPTPP bloc (countries in the Comprehensive and Progressive Agreement for Trans-Pacific Partnership), ASEAN countries... Vietnamese textile and garment products have also exploited new markets such as Africa, the Middle East...

The representative of the Vietnam Textile and Apparel Association acknowledged that in the short term, from now until the end of the second quarter of 2025, in reality, in the first months, many textile and garment exporting enterprises have orders to deliver until the end of May and June. However, enterprises are still considering choosing partners, and even do not dare to deliver far away for fear of higher selling prices compared to signed contracts.

Or as for the supporting industry, Ms. Truong Thi Chi Binh, General Secretary of the Vietnam Association of Supporting Industries (VASI) said that in addition to price competition, businesses in the industry are facing challenges from new market requirements, especially the requirement that input materials must be recycled. Meanwhile, recycled plastic and steel in Vietnam are less competitive than in China, because they cannot recover plastic from households and industry to provide input for plastic recycling businesses.

" The association hopes that foreign trade offices will share information and experience in developed markets, developing countries or countries with similar levels that Vietnam has done well in this regard for export ," Ms. Binh suggested.

Ms. Binh said that supporting industry enterprises are capable of producing a variety of products for export, such as: Motorcycle and bicycle components; products related to electrical cabinets, automation systems; plastic; rubber; plastic and rubber toy products; wind fans, wind turbines... Therefore, enterprises really need trade support information and connections to expand the market.

On the side of the Department of Industry (Ministry of Industry and Trade), the solution is also proposed that to increase the export of industrial products, production and business units need to closely follow the market, expand activities to find new customers; strengthen the connection between production and consumption chains; balance inventory and consumption to ensure cash flow as well as product quality, and arrange production flexibly to maintain optimal production activities.

According to the Department of Industry (Ministry of Industry and Trade), it is important for associations and industries to strengthen business connection activities and promote the consumption of each other's products. Enterprises, associations and industries need to make the most of opportunities from new-generation free trade agreements to seek new orders and customers.
