With a core and specialized role in building, managing and protecting territorial sovereignty and national border security, over the past 65 years, officers and soldiers of the Border Guard have always been steadfast on all fronts, excellently completing all tasks assigned by the Party, State, army and people. In those glorious feats and achievements, there are important contributions from Party and political activities.
Hundreds of groups and individuals have been awarded the title of Hero of the People's Armed Forces, thousands of wounded and fallen soldiers have held on, fought until their last bullet and breath to defend every inch of the Fatherland's border.
Up to now, the Border Guard Political Department has advised and guided the implementation of 22 movements, programs, models and initiatives with high efficiency. In particular, the Border Guard Political Department has advised the Command to direct and implement programs with profound humanistic meanings, such as "Helping children go to school - Adopted children of the Border Guard Station", "Border Spring warms the hearts of the villagers", "Border Full Moon Festival", "Accompanying Women of the Border"... Thereby, thousands of billions of VND have been mobilized to help people eliminate hunger and reduce poverty, stabilize their lives in border areas, which have been recognized and highly appreciated by Party committees, authorities and people of all ethnic groups.
At the same time, advise and implement many border foreign affairs activities such as: "Border Defense Friendship Exchange", "Border Friendship Exchange", "Political Work Exchange", "Young Officer Exchange"; advise localities to organize the signing of 218 pairs of residential clusters on both sides of the border... Thereby contributing to consolidating, enhancing and developing solidarity, friendship and cooperation between the border management and protection forces and the people on both sides of the border, building a peaceful, friendly, stable, cooperative and developing border.
At the ceremony, authorized by the President, Lieutenant General Nguyen Anh Tuan, Party Secretary and Political Commissar of the Border Guard, awarded the First Class Fatherland Protection Medal to the Border Guard Political Department for its outstanding achievements in training, combat service, building the People's Army, and consolidating national defense from 2018 to 2022, contributing to the cause of building socialism and defending the Fatherland.
Speaking at the ceremony, Lieutenant General Nguyen Anh Tuan - Political Commissar of the Border Guard emphasized: "The 65th anniversary of the traditional day is an opportunity to once again affirm the role and contributions of the heroic Border Guard Political Department to the cause of building, managing and protecting territorial sovereignty, national border security and building a strong Party organization and Border Guard force. The Border Guard Political Department needs to continue to respect and promote democracy, uphold discipline, care for and improve the material and spiritual life of officers and soldiers, build a comprehensively strong Border Guard Political Department, "Exemplary model", become a "Professional, exemplary, leading" unit in all tasks; ready to receive and excellently complete all assigned tasks, contributing with agencies and units in the entire force to successfully carry out the cause of building, managing and protecting territorial sovereignty and national border security in the new situation".
