After that, the home team continued to attack fiercely to seek victory at home. But with only 10 men, the Indonesian team could not score any more goals. The match ended 3-3.

The ASEAN Cup will take place from December 8, 2024, with the final match taking place on January 5, 2025. The tournament will feature 10 teams from Southeast Asia. Group A includes Thailand, Malaysia, Singapore, Cambodia and Timor Leste. Group B includes Vietnam, Indonesia, Philippines, Myanmar and Laos. The Vietnamese team will meet Laos (December 9), Indonesia (December 15), Philippines (December 18), and Myanmar (December 21). In the group stage, the teams will play a round-robin, with each team playing 2 home and 2 away matches. At the end of the group stage, the top 2 teams in each group will advance to the semi-finals. The semi-finals and final will feature 2 home and away matches. In the semi-finals, the away goal format will be applied. In the 2024 ASEAN Cup, the Vietnamese team's goal is to reach the final. The Vietnamese team will face strong competition from Indonesia, Thailand, and Malaysia. Previously, at the ASEAN Cup 2022, Vietnam accepted the runner-up position after losing to Thailand in the final match.
