Construction violating Soc Son forest land continues to be completed, 'challenging' the government

According to Thanh Nien 's records on the morning of September 1, around Dong Do Lake (Minh Tri Commune, Soc Son District; within the Soc Son forest planning area), there are still many tents set up to serve the camping and tourism needs of the people. The dirt road several meters wide was leveled around Dong Do Lake, and at times, there were a line of motorbikes moving one after another to enter the facilities built on the lake land and Soc Son forest land.

Previously, on August 16, at the conference on handling land and construction order violations in Minh Tri and Minh Phu communes, Mr. Pham Quang Ngoc, Vice Chairman of the People's Committee of Soc Son District, directed the Chairman of the People's Committee of Minh Tri Commune to take action to handle and clear illegal shacks on lake land and forest land around Dong Do Lake in August. However, in reality, the direction of the district level has not been thoroughly implemented by the Minh Tri Commune government.

More specifically, in the context of forest land violations in Soc Son District becoming a hot spot, attracting great attention from public opinion, around Dong Do Lake, many projects continue to be completed. The most special one is the project located close to the edge of the lake with 24 concrete pipes stacked on top of each other. Previously, on June 3, Soc Son Irrigation Enterprise and Minh Tri Commune People's Committee made a record when they discovered many groups of workers constructing foundation embankments with many concrete panels within the protection area of the irrigation project at the location cos 24.33 m (5.24 m below the dam crest elevation).

Constructions next to Dong Do Lake "change their skin" over time, even though authorities have issued violation reports.

Notably, while the old violations had not been completely resolved, after a few months, this project was built on a larger scale. On the morning of September 1, many people were still working in the sewers. On the same day, Thanh Nien reporters contacted the leaders of the People's Committee of Soc Son District to report the above situation but received no response.

According to the plan, in August and September, Soc Son District assigned the Chairman of Minh Tri Commune People's Committee to enforce 6 illegal constructions around Dong Do Lake, including Mr. VMC's 7-storey solid construction. This construction was mobilized 3 times by Soc Son District People's Committee but "could not be enforced".
