Announcing 4 communes meeting advanced new rural standards

Today, December 19, Cam Lo District People's Committee held a ceremony to announce the decision of the Provincial People's Committee Chairman recognizing 4 communes: Cam Chinh, Cam Nghia, Cam Thanh, Cam Hieu to meet advanced new rural standards in 2022. Standing Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Ha Sy Dong attended the ceremony.

In 2019, Cam Lo district was recognized by the Prime Minister as a district meeting the NTM standards. This is the first district in Quang Tri province as well as in Binh Tri Thien area to meet the NTM district standards in the period 2016 - 2020.

As of December 2023, the total number of criteria meeting the standards of advanced NTM communes for 7 communes in Cam Lo district is 127/133 criteria, reaching 95.5%, an increase of 15.4% compared to the beginning of 2023; model NTM communes meet 8/12 criteria, reaching 66.7%; 37 villages and neighborhoods are recognized as meeting model standards at all levels, NTM districts meet 7/9 criteria, advanced NTM districts meet 6/9 criteria.

In the process of building the new rural area, up to now, 31 district-managed roads and 34 commune-managed roads with a length of more than 242 km have all been 100% asphalted; irrigation works are annually invested in upgrading, managing, and operating effectively, ensuring the proactive irrigation area reaches over 93.2%; 100% of households have regular access to electricity, 100% of schools meet national standards level 1 and 11 schools meet standards level 2; cultural, social, and medical institutions have been gradually invested in, ensuring the supply and service of medical examination and treatment as well as cultural and social security activities of the people.

Up to now, Cam Chinh, Cam Nghia, Cam Thanh, and Cam Hieu communes have completed the criteria and have been recognized by the Provincial People's Committee Chairman as meeting the standards of advanced NTM communes (the first 4/9 communes of the province).

Speaking at the ceremony, Permanent Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Ha Sy Dong emphasized that communes meeting advanced and model NTM standards are an important basis for Cam Lo to strive to meet the standards of a model NTM district by 2025.

From there, the Standing Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee requested Cam Lo district and the 4 communes that met the standards of advanced new-style rural communes this time to continue to promote propaganda and mobilization; promote democracy, the strength of the great solidarity of the people, create high consensus of the entire political system and the whole society to maintain and sustain the results of building new-style rural areas and advanced new-style rural areas, and move towards building a model new-style rural commune according to the set roadmap.

Focus on building outstanding model new rural areas, promoting local characteristics and advantages, with the orientation of building Cam Chinh into a model new rural commune in digital transformation associated with tourism, Cam Thanh commune into a model new rural commune in education quality, Cam Nghia commune into a model new rural commune in environmental landscape, Cam Hieu commune into a model new rural commune in production organization.

Localities need to continue to consider building a model new rural area as a key political task, resolute in leadership and direction; further enhance the role and responsibility of leaders of Party committees, authorities, and organizations at all levels; link the assignment of tasks with inspection, supervision, assessment, and review of responsibilities; promptly encourage and reward collectives, individuals, and localities with many achievements and contributions to building new rural areas.

On this occasion, Standing Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Ha Sy Dong awarded certificates of recognition for communes meeting advanced NTM standards to the communes of Cam Chinh, Cam Nghia, Cam Thanh, Cam Hieu and a welfare project worth 400 million VND to each commune. Cam Lo District People's Committee awarded certificates of merit to 8 collectives and 12 individuals with outstanding achievements in building advanced NTM.
