Hue City Police bust lottery ring worth nearly 19 billion VND

On February 5, the Investigation Police Agency of Hue City Police (Thua Thien - Hue) announced that it had just issued a decision to prosecute the case, prosecute the accused, and temporarily detain Ha Thi Thanh Truc (49 years old) and Hoang Thi Cam Le (35 years old) for organizing gambling; prosecute and temporarily detain Le Van Duong (49 years old, both residing in Tay Loc Ward, Hue City) for gambling.

These are the defendants involved in a lottery ring with transaction amounts of billions of dong.

Previously, the Hue City Police Department's Social Order Crime Investigation Team discovered that Ha Thi Thanh Truc was the leader and organizer of a gambling ring in the form of lottery with large transaction amounts.

After establishing a special case, on February 1, Hue City Police arrested Truc, and also arrested Hoang Thi Cam Le and Le Van Duong.

At the time of his arrest, Le was using the Zalo application to record lottery numbers for many gamblers, including for Duong with the amount of 42 million VND.

After receiving the lottery numbers, Le transferred them to Truc to compile for the day. In just the last 4 days, before being arrested, Ha Thi Thanh Truc organized lottery numbers with a transaction amount of more than 1.7 billion VND.

Truc confessed that he started organizing gambling in October 2023. By the time it was discovered, the ring had transacted about 19 billion VND.
