Quang Nam police work with Dong Giang district to eliminate temporary and dilapidated houses.

On March 28, the Quang Nam Police delegation had a working session with the People's Committee of Dong Giang district on speeding up the implementation of support to eliminate temporary and dilapidated houses in the district.

According to the assignment of the Steering Committee for Eliminating Temporary and Dilapidated Houses in Quang Nam Province, the Provincial Police were assigned to coordinate with relevant units and localities to support the construction and repair of 40 houses in the three districts of Phuoc Son, Dong Giang and Bac Tra My. Of which, Dong Giang district has 10 newly built houses and 3 repaired houses in Ba and Ka Dang communes.

Recently, the Provincial Police Department has established a Youth Volunteer Team consisting of 32 youth union members to coordinate with local authorities to survey and implement construction. Up to now, 5 households in Dong Giang district have been supported to build new houses, 5 households are preparing to build houses, 1 household has completed house repairs, and 2 households are currently being supported to repair houses.

In addition to available resources, the Provincial Police called for support from organizations and businesses, and received sponsorship from VietinBank Quang Nam branch to build 50 houses for poor households, including support for Dong Giang district to build 11 houses (each house costing 100 million VND).

At the meeting, representatives of Quang Nam Police and Dong Giang District People's Committee discussed and assessed the reality of some difficulties and problems in the process of implementing construction and repair of housing projects for people such as: issues of support funding, shortage of construction materials, high labor costs, customs of the Co Tu people, etc.

Through the discussion, the representative of the Dong Giang District People's Committee pledged to direct relevant departments and commune People's Committees to accelerate the funding, mobilize local forces to support, and ensure the progress and quality of the project. For the 11 houses funded by VietinBank, they will be completed before the 80th anniversary of the Vietnam People's Public Security Forces (August 19, 1945 - August 19, 2025).
