Nghe An police arrest fugitive wanted for 17 years in Laos

On October 19, according to news from Hoang Mai Town Police (Nghe An), the unit has just arrested Vu Nhenh Chu after 17 years of being wanted.

Previously, around September 2023, Hoang Mai Town Police received information that Vu Nhenh Chu (born in 1960), residing in Tay Son commune, Ky Son district (Nghe An), was wanted by Ky Son district police since 2006 for the crime of " Violating regulations on forest exploitation and protection ", currently hiding in Kham Cot district, Bo Ly Kham Xay province (Laos).

This is a dangerous subject, has been on the run for many years and frequently changes his living and working locations, causing many difficulties for the authorities in the process of capturing him.

Upon receiving the report, Hoang Mai Town Police (Nghe An) coordinated with the Provincial Police Department to directly go to Kham Cot district, Bo Ly Kham Xay province (Laos) to verify information about Vu Nenh Chu.

After correctly identifying Vu Nhenh Chu, at around 11pm on October 10, the task force coordinated with the authorities to arrest Chu while he was hiding in a house in Noong Pong village, Kham Cot district, and then brought him back to Vietnam.

Currently, Hoang Mai Town Police are completing the file and handing over Vu Nhenh Chu to Ky Son District Police (Nghe An) for handling according to regulations.
