The Vietnam National Petroleum Group consortium has just put the temporary rest stop at Km 427+350, Nghi Son - Dien Chau expressway (in Dien Chau district, Nghe An province) into operation, serving people before the Lunar New Year 2025.
On the days approaching the Lunar New Year 2025, Giao thong Newspaper reporters were present at the rest stop Km 427+350, Nghi Son - Dien Chau highway (in Dien Chau district, Nghe An province).
According to the record, the Petrolimex consortium (including Vietnam National Petroleum Group and Thua Thien - Hue Petroleum Company) is the project investor and has put the temporary rest stop into operation.

The station includes a rest house, fast food area; restroom; parking lot... Although it is a temporary construction, everything is spacious and clean.
Returning home from Hanoi for Tet, Mr. Nguyen Ngoc Toan (from Vinh City, Nghe An) shared: While the official rest stop has not been built yet, the investor's arrangement of a temporary rest stop like this is very appropriate and timely.
"During the days before Tet, the traffic volume on the route is very large. Therefore, putting into operation the rest stop is very appropriate and timely. Because every vehicle stops on the road to rest and clean up, it is not only unsightly but also poses many potential risks to traffic safety.
"It's temporary, but the motel and restrooms are very spacious and clean. Overall, it's very suitable for the period when there's no official investment in building the station," said Mr. Toan.
Speaking over the phone, a Petrolimex leader in charge of this rest stop project said: Implementing the direction of Minister of Transport Tran Hong Minh on speeding up the implementation of 8 investment projects to build rest stops on the Eastern North-South Expressway.
In the past time, the group has closely coordinated with Dien Chau district to complete the site clearance work. In parallel, the group has deployed the construction of a temporary rest stop at Km 427+035 of the Nghi Son - Dien Chau expressway.

Previously, on January 23, Petrolimex coordinated with the Vietnam Road Administration, Vietnam Expressway Administration, Traffic Police Department C08, Road Management Area II, Nghe An Provincial Department of Transport and relevant agencies to complete the technical acceptance of the temporary rest stop at Km 427+035 of Nghi Son - Dien Chau Expressway into operation.
The station has essential services such as parking, rest, fast food, public toilets...
The operation of the temporary rest stop has provided essential rest stops for people and vehicles participating in traffic, contributing to ensuring traffic safety, environmental sanitation, and convenience for travel during the peak period of Tet 2025.
The toilet area is clean and spacious.
Before putting the Km 427+350 temporary rest stop into operation, the authorities had previously arranged two temporary rest stops at the two ends of Truong Vinh tunnel and Than Vu tunnel.
Mr. Thai Ba Nam - Director of Nghe An Petroleum Company (the unit operating the temporary rest stop) said that because the station is temporary, employees face many difficulties and hardships in operating it.

The North-South Expressway section through Nghe An province has a total length of nearly 88km, including 2 component projects.
The Nghi Son - Dien Chau section of the project has a total length of 50km, passing through Nghe An province for 43.5km. The project has a total investment of VND 7,293 billion, starting construction in July 2021 and being put into operation from September 1, 2023.
The Dien Chau - Bai Vot section of the project is 49.3km long, passing through Nghe An province for 44.4km. The project is implemented in the form of public-private partnership (PPP), with a total investment of VND 11,157 billion. The project was started on May 22, 2021, and has now been completed and officially started collecting tolls.
The expressway through Nghe An province has 5 intersections, including: QL48D (in Quynh Vinh commune, Hoang Mai town); QL48B (in Quynh My commune, Quynh Luu district); QL7A (in Dien Cat commune, Dien Chau district); QL7C (also known as N5 road, in Nghi Dong commune, Nghi Loc district) and finally QL46B intersection (in Hung Tay commune, Hung Nguyen district).
