Blackpink concert in Vietnam earned more than 300 billion VND

In Blackpink's tours in Asia, Hanoi is the 6th highest-grossing leg, higher than Korea, Japan and China.

According to Touring Data - an independent box office revenue tracking platform - Blackpink's two-night concert at the end of July at My Dinh National Stadium sold 67,443 tickets, with a 100% occupancy rate. Total revenue brought in nearly 13.7 million USD (equivalent to more than 331 billion VND).

In Asia alone, the Vietnam leg had the 8th highest ticket sales and 6th highest revenue. This revenue was even higher than the girl group's home country and the legs in China and Japan - which are traditionally key markets for the Korean cultural industry.

Speaking to VnExpress , a representative of a unit with experience in organizing entertainment events for foreign artists, assessed this as a "dreamy and inspiring" revenue level for those in the industry. Although there is no professional statistical unit, the above figure is likely to be a record high in the history of organizing entertainment events in Vietnam.

Born Pink World Tour is Blackpink's second tour, starting in mid-October 2022, with a tight schedule in Asia, Europe, North America and Oceania. The group has a total of 66 shows. The total revenue of the tour is about 260.6 million USD with nearly 1.5 million tickets sold. On average, the group earns more than 4.65 million USD per show with about 26,500 audiences. In Asia alone, the group performed 30 nights, selling more than 1 million tickets with a 100% occupancy rate. Total revenue in this market reached nearly 164.5 million USD. Thanks to that, the Born Pink World Tour became the highest-grossing tour by a female artist in Asian history.

Typically, ticket sales for a concert will be divided in the following proportions: about 15% will be used to pay taxes, pay music royalties, and share profits with domestic ticket distributors. The remaining ticket sales will be divided between the idols' management companies and local organizers. The division ratio is agreed upon between the parties when signing the contract to organize the performance.

Blackpink debuted in August 2016, consisting of four members Jennie, Lisa, Jisoo, Rose. After seven years of operation, although only releasing two albums, the girl group has stirred up the music scene with many hits such as Ddu-Du Ddu-Du, Kill This Love , Pink Venom. This is considered the most famous girl group in the world at the moment.

This year, the four girls are the first Asian artist group to be invited to perform at Coachella - one of the world's largest music festivals.
