Sharing about writing a volunteer application to join the army to fulfill her dream of becoming a soldier in green uniform, the girl from Phu Yen said that since childhood she admired her uncle who was a border guard.
The idea of keeping a diary is to motivate and remind yourself to overcome the challenges ahead.

"He lives near my house. During the rainy season, he doesn't have time to be at home with his family, he has to stay at the station, always ready for any emergency. When I grew up, I understood that it is the responsibility of a soldier to the people and the Fatherland," Ý confided.
According to Ý, Phu Yen has a 189 km long coastline, stretching across 4 districts, towns and cities including: Song Cau Town, Tuy An District, Tuy Hoa City and Dong Hoa Town. Many people in these localities make a living by fishing, drifting all year round at the forefront of the waves and winds, facing many dangers.
"Every time there is news of fishermen in distress at sea, after the pain of the victims' relatives comes the regret and bitterness of the border guards . Every time I hear my uncle talk about the tragic incidents of fishermen, I feel both sympathy for the hardships of the people and the pain and efforts of the border guards in those situations. That is the reason I want to become a border guard," Ý shared.
The dream grew bigger and bigger. Later, when social networks developed, images and clips of border guards accompanying fishermen, ready to face the storm to rescue fishermen in all circumstances, enhanced the image of the green-uniformed soldier in Ý's mind.
To prepare well for the military enlistment day and 4 months of arduous training at the training ground, Ý spends time exercising every day.
As the departure date approached, Ý's anxiety grew. She wrote diary entries every day to remind herself to always be ready to overcome all challenges and determined to pursue her dream: "With the dream of becoming a soldier and dedicating myself to the Fatherland, I am ready."
Sharing about the only female in Phu Hoa district who volunteered to join the army, Mr. Phan Anh Quoc, Secretary of the District Youth Union, said: "Putting aside job opportunities in Ho Chi Minh City to continue her dream of becoming a border guard that she has nurtured for 10 years, Nhu Y represents the spirit of young people who are ready to challenge themselves and determined to realize their dreams. Besides, there is the sense of responsibility of young people , ready to contribute to their homeland and the Fatherland. That is an example worth praising and learning from."
