Fans welcome Vietnam women's football team

At noon on June 27, the plane carrying the Vietnamese women's team landed at Noi Bai airport. The Vietnamese women's team ended a long training trip in Europe, in preparation for the 2023 FIFA World Cup finals in Australia and New Zealand.

General Secretary of the Vietnam Football Federation (VFF) Duong Nghiep Khoi welcomed the team. In addition, relatives and fans were also present to give best wishes to the team members.

VFF President Tran Quoc Tuan flew back with the Vietnam women's team.

The team's flight lasted 10 hours, but the team's spirit and health were quite good. The players were given priority to complete immigration procedures and then quickly moved to the Vietnam Youth Football Training Center to rest. The team will soon start training before going to New Zealand for the 2023 World Cup.

In the recent training session, the Vietnamese women's team had useful friendly matches with Eintracht Frankfurt, Schott Mainz, and the Polish U23 team. In particular, coach Mai Duc Chung and his team concluded the training session with a match against the German women's team, the team ranked second in the FIFA rankings. The Vietnamese team lost 1-2 but showed an impressive performance with many good scoring opportunities.

" In football, just a little bit of carelessness can lead to a loss. The team conceded an early goal but we tried to fix it quickly. In particular, the Vietnamese women's team had several opportunities to score against the German team, not just Thanh Nha's late goal ," coach Mai Duc Chung expressed regret about this loss.

The Vietnamese women's team will have 10 days of training in Vietnam. On July 5, the team will go to New Zealand to get used to the weather conditions and compete. Before entering the tournament, the Vietnamese women's team will play friendly matches with New Zealand on July 10 and Spain on July 14.
