On the morning of December 12, at the headquarters at 71 Hang Trong, Hanoi, Nhan Dan Newspaper in collaboration with Coteccons Construction Joint Stock Company (CTD) organized the launching ceremony of the program "Build Tet 2025" with practical material and spiritual support to more than 18,500 workers nationwide.

The program

According to comrade Le Quoc Minh, member of the Party Central Committee, Editor-in-Chief of Nhan Dan Newspaper, Deputy Head of the Central Propaganda Department, Chairman of the Vietnam Journalists Association, as a major media agency, Nhan Dan Newspaper has organized many social and volunteer activities in recent times, contributing to spreading meaningful stories and attracting more organizations, businesses and individuals to participate in common activities for the community. On the occasion of the Lunar New Year 2025, Nhan Dan Newspaper cooperated with Coteccons Group to organize the program "Build Tet 2025". This is the second year that Nhan Dan Newspaper has cooperated with Coteccons Construction Joint Stock Company (CTD) to implement the program "Build Tet" to bring a warm and joyful Tet to workers.

“We hope to receive the cooperation of businesses and media agencies so that the good values ​​of the program “Building Tet 2025” with the theme Building a dream foundation will continue to spread more strongly and widely in society, contributing to improving the quality of life and happiness index of Vietnamese people, towards a joyful and happy Tet At Ty 2025 for every family; creating a new atmosphere, new motivation; practically towards the Party Congresses at all levels for the 2025-2030 term towards the 14th National Congress of the Party”, said comrade Le Quoc Minh.

Bringing warm spring to workers on construction sites

Speaking at the launching ceremony of the “Build Tet 2025” program on the morning of December 12, comrade Phan Van Hung, Deputy Editor-in-Chief of Nhan Dan Newspaper, said that the “Build Tet 2025” program will be deployed synchronously at many construction sites across the country from December 16, 2024 to January 2025, bringing more than 18,500 Tet gifts to workers. Nhan Dan Newspaper hopes that the program will be accompanied more to spread and multiply humanistic values ​​to create motivation for social development.

According to Mr. Phan Van Anh, Vice President of the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor, the fact that Nhan Dan Newspaper continues to cooperate with Coteccons to organize the program Building Tet 2025 with the theme "Building the dream foundation" is a valuable effort. This is a meaningful work to help workers, especially workers in the construction industry, to have a joyful, warm and happy Tet, thereby creating motivation for workers to work harder and improve the quality of products.

On behalf of the workers, he expressed his thanks to Nhan Dan Newspaper and Coteccons Company. He also requested that all levels of trade unions, especially trade unions of provinces and construction sectors, closely coordinate with Nhan Dan Newspaper and Coteccons Company to implement the Tet 2025 program effectively and meaningfully, and review the workers to bring appropriate gifts, in line with the program's objectives.

Briefly reporting on programs to care for the interests of union members and workers in Hung Yen province in recent times, comrade Le Quang Toan, Chairman of the Hung Yen Provincial Labor Federation, affirmed the practical significance and profound humanistic value of the event "Building Tet".

The program

The Tet Construction program has sown the seeds of joy and warmth during Tet. This year, we aspire to send a deeper message of gratitude through the commitment to “Building the Dream Foundation”, as a way to express empathy and appreciation for the motivation hidden in their tireless efforts."

Scholarship "building dreams" for workers' children

Answering questions from the press at the event, comrade Phan Van Hung said that with the spirit of "Where there are people, there is Nhan Dan Newspaper", the Tet Construction program is implemented with humane and compassionate criteria; thereby directly supporting workers. Following the success of "Tet Construction 2024", the "Tet Construction 2025" program will expand its scale and increase the number of gift recipients to 18,500 workers, including urban environmental workers. In addition to gift giving activities, this year, the "Tet Construction" program will coordinate with the Saigon Economic Times Foundation to give many gifts to students who are children of workers at the construction site.

Responding to press questions regarding the scholarship program for workers' children, Ms. Nguyen Trinh Thuy Trang, Deputy General Director of Coteccons, said that after 2 years of implementing the program, Coteccons understands better the thoughts and aspirations of the workers.

"In addition to practical needs such as gifts or tickets to go home for Tet, children are also a big concern for workers. This year, we have expanded the criteria for scholarships for students with good academic performance to continue to encourage them to continue to strive harder in the future," Ms. Trang informed.

The program

According to the General Statistics Office, the number of people working in the industrial and construction sector is 17 million, accounting for 33%. The average income of workers is about 7.6 million VND/month in the third quarter of 2024. On average, each worker works 8-12 hours/day and 6-7 days/week. Construction workers and sanitation workers are also the groups that receive the least attention in society.

According to Ms. Trang, at Coteccons and Unicons, the average income of workers is at least 12 million VND/month. With the viewpoint of "a happy construction site is a safe construction site", last year, the company spent more than 26,000 hours training safety skills for more than 30,000 workers, thanks to which, the company had more than 41.6 million hours of safe construction.
