Previously, the residence of Ms. Ly Thi Phai’s family in Hung Dung village (Hung My commune, Chiem Hoa district) was a temporary hut made of bamboo that was seriously degraded and was about to collapse every time it rained or was windy. Due to difficult circumstances, her husband was sick all year round, so although they worked hard to make a living, building a new stable place to live was really beyond the family’s financial capacity.
In early 2024, after checking, Ms. Phai's house was eligible for support from the "For the Poor" Fund of Chiem Hoa district to remove dilapidated houses. In addition to the 50 million VND budget, the family also received enthusiastic help from mass organizations, relatives and friends who supported part of the budget and materials to complete the solid house to ensure the "3 hard" criteria. The house is spacious and airy, helping family members live comfortably, without having to worry every time the rainy season comes.
Also in the first months of 2024, Mr. Vuong Van Vo's family in Quyet Thang commune was handed over a Great Unity house by the Fatherland Front Committee of Son Duong district. In the new house, Mr. Vo shared, "Even in my dreams, I never thought I would have such a spacious house. Thank you to the Party, the State, and the Vietnam Fatherland Front for caring and helping poor people like us to have a more spacious place to live. Having a stable place to live, the family also has more motivation to work and produce with peace of mind, gradually improving their lives."
Mr. Nguyen Hung Vuong - Head of the Provincial Party Committee's Mass Mobilization Commission, Chairman of the Provincial Fatherland Front Committee of Tuyen Quang province said that in order to help poor households settle down, the Standing Committee of the Provincial Fatherland Front Committee has consulted with the Provincial Party Committee's Standing Committee to issue a Project to eliminate temporary and dilapidated houses for poor households in Tuyen Quang province, period 2021 - 2025 and chaired negotiations and coordination with member organizations and sectors to implement the Project throughout the province.
After more than 2 years of implementation, many solutions and resources have been mobilized by the Vietnam Fatherland Front and its member organizations to help and support poor households to renovate and repair their houses. Implementing Project No. 02-DA/TU of the Provincial Party Committee Standing Committee on continuing to innovate the content and methods of operation of the Vietnam Fatherland Front and socio-political organizations, the "3 together" activities with the people have supported over 130,000 working days to dismantle old houses, dig foundations, level the ground, transport materials, and roof houses for poor households. With the participation of the entire political system, up to now, the whole province has over 6,000 poor households supported to renovate and repair their houses with a total cost of over 698 billion VND.
Responding to the emulation movement nationwide to join hands to eliminate temporary and dilapidated houses in 2025 launched by the Government and the Presidium of the Central Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front, Tuyen Quang province is continuing to accelerate progress to ensure the correct implementation of the set plan goals. In localities, the Vietnam Fatherland Front at all levels continues to coordinate with Party committees, authorities, and relevant agencies to focus on reviewing, updating, supplementing, and compiling a complete list of poor households living in temporary and dilapidated houses that need support to renovate and repair their houses, avoiding omissions and duplication of support lists, paying attention to poor households who are meritorious people, policy families, and poor households who are ethnic minorities in remote, isolated, and especially disadvantaged areas.
Along with that, the Fatherland Front at all levels continues to have solutions to proactively and focus on mobilizing resources to support poor households in building houses; focusing on coordinating the effective use of support resources, credit resources and support resources from the community. Coordinate and unify the allocation of resources to support housing construction for poor households from the National Target Program on Sustainable Poverty Reduction and the National Target Program on Socio-Economic Development for Ethnic Minorities and Mountainous Areas to strive to complete the goal of completely eliminating temporary and dilapidated houses in the province by 2025.
