At 6:30 a.m. on November 19, all the 11th grade students of Le Hong Phong High School for the Gifted, Ho Chi Minh City, and their parents were present at the school gate.

The students were holding flowers, standing in line and waiting. When they saw Mr. Ngoc, the school's vice principal, and Mr. Vinh, the IT teacher, enter, the whole class ran out, giving flowers and congratulating them.

Just like that, the students and parents of class 11C took turns congratulating their teachers.

Even when Ms. Thu Hang, the literature teacher, entered the school, many students ran to the parking lot to welcome her in. Holding a bouquet of flowers that the parents of class 11 C had just given her, Ms. Hang expressed: "I am very surprised by the way parents and students express their feelings like this. Nowadays, everyone is busy. Yet the parents took the time to come to school early in the morning to congratulate the teachers, I feel really happy"...

Not only that, Ms. Bich Tuyen, a physical education teacher, also said: "This is the first time I have been thanked by students and their parents on November 20 in such a special way. I feel respected and very happy."

Speaking to Tuoi Tre online, Mr. Tran Van Can, head of the Parents' Representative Board of Class 11 C, Le Hong Phong High School for the Gifted, said: "On Vietnamese Teachers' Day, we want to express our gratitude to our children's teachers in the most respectful and meaningful way. Therefore, the Parents' Representative Board of the class discussed and agreed to congratulate the teachers on the day the school celebrates its anniversary on November 20. Because on that day, the teachers will wear nicer clothes than usual and be present in large numbers at school."

Mr. Can added: "With limited funds, we chose to buy flowers and arrange them ourselves. Instead of having only a few parents in the Parents' Association come to congratulate, we announced in the class group so that any parents who could arrange to join in.

As for the students, they are required to be at school earlier than usual to welcome and give flowers to the teachers. The whole class being present and congratulating them like that will show their respect and wish to create a surprise for the teachers" - Mr. Can emphasized.

20-11 don't put envelopes in teachers' hands

On the fanpage of a group of high school parents in Ho Chi Minh City, many people asked what to give their children's teachers on November 20. Many people gave advice: just giving an envelope is the most convenient - for both yourself and the teachers.

However, a parent who is also a teacher commented: "The gift is not as important as the way it is given. Give a gift so that the recipient feels happy and comfortable, and do not make the teacher feel embarrassed. Do not push an envelope into the teacher's hand in public. I have had this happen many times and feel very embarrassed."
