According to an announcement from Galaxy Corp. - a metaverse technology company applying artificial intelligence (AI), and also the representative of G-Dragon, the artist's short greeting and the latest song Home Sweet Home were transmitted from Earth to space on April 9.

The project is a collaboration between Galaxy Corp., G-Dragon and the Korea Advanced Institute of Science and Technology (KAIST).

Science has helped the world share music , which is great. But having one of my favorite songs broadcast into space still feels like a dream. I'm excited and hope it 'finds its right Home Sweet Home'.
G-Dragon expressed surprise and excitement

The broadcast signal not only conveyed G-Dragon's voice and the melody of Home Sweet Home , but also rang the Emile Bell, one of the oldest bronze bells in Korea, with a history of over 1,000 years.

At the same time as the broadcast, the song Home Sweet Home was combined with an AI-powered artwork inspired by G-Dragon's own eyes.

The work, titled Iris , was created by contemporary artist and KAIST associate professor Lee Jin Joon. G-Dragon is also currently a visiting professor at the school's mechanical engineering department.

To send this combined art project into space, scientists used a 13-meter-high antenna located at KAIST's satellite center in Daejeon city, about 150km south of Seoul.

At the same time, artwork is also presented using projection mapping - a technology that creates vivid animation effects on physical surfaces, providing a visual experience rich in depth and expression.

After being transmitted, all signals from Earth were received by a new-generation satellite, successfully launched in May 2023 by a Nuri rocket, and re-broadcast into space. KAIST said the school's Satellite Technology Research Center will continue to re-broadcast this project every day in the future.

Sharing more about the meaning of this work, artist Lee Jin Joon said that the pupil is a symbol that reflects emotions and ego, also known as the "mirror of the soul". Through this work, artist Lee hopes to depict "the infinite universe seen from the human heart" through G-Dragon's perspective.

Real name Kwon Ji-yong, G-Dragon debuted in 2006 as the leader of boy band Big Bang, one of Asia's most influential K-pop groups.

He is known as a well-rounded artist with the ability to compose, perform and shape his own unique artistic style. G-Dragon is also one of the few Korean artists to make a strong mark in multidisciplinary creative activities.

Recently, he officially returned with his 3rd studio album called Übermensch , his first solo product after 8 years since the EP album Kwon Ji Yong (2017), and also marked his official comeback since Big Bang released the song Still Life in 2022.
