Photo cut from clip
From April 9 to 10, social media went viral with a clip recording a man repeatedly hitting his wife in the face, causing public outrage. Notably, the woman in the clip is said to have just given birth 5 months ago.
A DJ was named after a clip of him abusing his wife.
Although the identities of the two characters in the clip have not been officially confirmed, after watching the clip, netizens called out the name of a DJ who participated in the program. Who is that person 2023 with the image of a scholar and sharing quite openly about his true gender.
After just a few hours, the clip went viral with thousands of shares, and the hashtag tagging this DJ's name immediately reached the top trending.
At the same time, netizens also "flooded" into the Beatlab fanpage - the center that this DJ co-founded, expressing anger, even demanding a boycott of the fanpage.
Some people called on authorities to intervene to protect the wife and 5-month-old child.
A center speaks out
Faced with a wave of criticism from the online community, on the evening of April 10, the center had to post two articles in a row to appease public opinion.
The first post said Beatlab had received information about the DJ "and the inappropriate behavior that is currently circulating on social media."
The center said this person was one of the DJs on the team from the beginning (2023). But within the past year, he has stepped back to take care of family and children.
"As a music team that wants to improve our skills and spread positive values, we are aware that the behaviors that people have seen are completely wrong," the page reads.
This unit also officially confirmed that it was not related to the actions at home that the DJ performed, "hoping that the online community - those who judge fairly - will understand and temporarily stop attacking us on the platforms".
The page added that the DJ in question was just one of the co-founders. The DJ-related content has also been hidden. There are still other brothers in the group; the group is also looking for a way to solve this problem quickly and thoroughly.
However, Beatlab's post made many people even more angry. "Obviously co-founder but acting like he has nothing to do with it, boycott the page" is the comment of many people.
That is why this page had to post a second article late that same night. Accordingly, from April 10, the DJ was officially suspended from all activities related to Beatlab.
Once again, the team asserts that they "are not involved in, promote, or condone behaviors that go against social norms."
Tuoi Tre Online has tried to contact the DJ for more information but has not received a response. We will continue to update the latest information related to the incident.
This DJ's personal account is currently locked.
