Today, September 25, Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the People's Committee of Quang Tri province Vo Van Hung periodically received citizens in September 2024. Attending the citizen reception were leaders of departments and branches; Chairmen of People's Committees of districts, towns and cities where citizens came to make recommendations and complaints.

At the meeting, there were 17 cases, involving many citizens who registered to meet the Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee. Among the petitions, there were 4 petitions with many people, including petitions from 37 households in Nam Hieu village, Cam Hieu commune, Cam Lo district, related to the measurement and development of a plan to support the traffic safety corridor of the National Highway 9 overpass, part of the Van Ninh - Cam Lo expressway component project; 23 households in Vinh An village, Cam Hieu commune, Cam Lo district petitioned to build flood-proof stilt houses for people because the Van Ninh - Cam Lo expressway component project lacked drainage, which was at risk of causing flooding during the rainy and stormy season; 14 households in Binh My village, Cam Tuyen commune, Cam Lo district petitioned on the use of forest land of local people; 5 households in Truc Lam village, Gio Quang commune, Gio Linh district petitioned on site clearance for the Eastern bypass project of Dong Ha city.
The remaining recommendations are mainly related to land such as recommendations on additional land allocation, compensation for site clearance, settlement of land disputes, settlement of violations in the field of land management, execution of land judgments... In addition, there are some recommendations on resolving regimes and policies for people with meritorious services.
Through review, there are 10 cases that are not under the jurisdiction of state administrative agencies; are still within the time limit for settlement by competent agencies; have been resolved in accordance with procedures and regulations but citizens continue to make complaints.
At the citizen reception session, Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Vo Van Hung refused to receive citizens in cases that were not under the jurisdiction of administrative agencies and cases that had been assigned to competent agencies for settlement and were still within the settlement period.
In the remaining cases, the Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee accepted the citizens' petitions and at the same time requested the leaders of relevant departments, agencies and localities to report in detail the content of the cases and the progress of resolving the assigned petitions.
Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Vo Van Hung requested that functional agencies and local authorities actively resolve petitions within their authority; during the resolution process, it is necessary to establish a working group to inspect the current situation, verify relevant information objectively, and at the same time note that the application of the law must follow the correct procedures and regulations to ensure citizens' rights.
Propose that the Department of Justice direct the Legal Aid Center to support citizens in exercising their rights to petition, complain, and denounce in accordance with the law, ensuring citizens' rights.
