Hai Phong According to National Assembly Chairman Vuong Dinh Hue, Do Son is a peninsula with limited development space, so it is necessary to handle suspended projects to avoid wasting land resources.
On the morning of October 14, National Assembly Chairman Vuong Dinh Hue and the delegation of Hai Phong city met with voters in Do Son district before the 6th session of the 15th National Assembly.
Voters requested the National Assembly and the Government to direct the review and early transfer of unused or improperly used houses and land of ministries, branches and central agencies to Hai Phong city for management and tourism development.
The National Assembly Chairman assessed that Do Son, with its peninsula terrain and area of only about 42 km2, has little room for development. Therefore, it is necessary to promote the handling of suspended projects that waste land resources. He also suggested that Do Son re-evaluate its tourism resources including the environment, businesses, and products, in the spirit of considering tourism as an economic sector, following economic laws and synchronizing infrastructure to become an international tourism center, along with Cat Ba and Ha Long.

According to a report from Do Son district, 11 central ministries and agencies have resort-cum-business houses in the tourist area. Of these, the projects of 6 agencies and units were built during the subsidy period and are now degraded; 12 other projects are behind schedule, with a total area of about 700,000 m2.
At the end of April, the People's Committee of Do Son district proposed that the People's Committee of Hai Phong city recommend the Government direct ministries and branches to transfer assets to the city for management to develop tourism infrastructure.
Do Son is a famous tourist area built by the French in the early 20th century. After 1975, many ministries and sectors were granted land in Do Son to build motels, guesthouses, and nursing homes to serve officials, workers, and civil servants in the sector. Facilities that met the conditions were then converted to operate as tourist hotels under the state-owned enterprise mechanism. However, after the subsidy, the projects were no longer invested in and therefore degraded.
