Typically, bonuses at Real Madrid are agreed at the start of the season between the captains and the club's board. They are awarded for trophies, not individual matches, with the biggest rewards for winning the Champions League and La Liga.

However, this season, the bonuses have been adjusted, especially when taking into account the participation in the FIFA Club World Cup. President Perez has put a lot of effort into this tournament, with the aim of helping Real Madrid become the first club to lift the trophy in the new tournament, a title that is not only prestigious but also requires a lot of effort.

While the players appreciate the bonus, they will not receive the full amount, as the bonus will be taxed at a rate of 45%. After tax, each player will receive around €137,000 from the €250,000 bonus. Real Madrid players also receive two payments during the season, in addition to a much smaller monthly salary.
