Hanoi Alcohol and Beverage Joint Stock Company (Halico, stock code: HNR) has just reported its financial report for the fourth quarter of 2024, recording net revenue of more than 32 billion VND, an increase of 8% over the same period last year.
However, after deducting the cost of capital and expenses, the company reported a loss of nearly VND1 billion. However, the loss was much lower than the loss of VND6.4 billion in the same period last year. For the whole year of 2024, Halico lost more than VND8.4 billion.
Halico has been losing money since 2016.
Halico started reporting losses in 2016 and has been doing so for 9 years now. As of December 31, 2024, it is currently at over 466 billion VND.
As of the end of 2024, Halico had short-term debts of nearly VND 23 billion; bank deposits of nearly VND 9 billion and cash equivalents worth VND 3 billion.
Previously, explaining the cause of the loss, Halico said it was due to the high price of input materials. In addition, alcohol consumption decreased due to unfavorable weather and the impact of a series of measures under the State's policy on preventing the harmful effects of alcohol abuse.
Halico, formerly known as Hanoi Wine Factory, was built in 1898 and is now over 120 years old.
