Principal fired after 30,000 VND meal with only 2 pieces of ham

(Dan Tri) - The People's Committee of Chau Duc district (Ba Ria - Vung Tau) has just issued a decision to dismiss Ms. Phan Thi Han Hue, Principal of Anh Duong Kindergarten, after the incident of a 30,000 VND meal with only 2 slices of ham.

On November 7, Mr. Nguyen Tan Ban, Chairman of the People's Committee of Chau Duc District (Ba Ria - Vung Tau Province), said that the unit had just issued a decision to allow Ms. Phan Thi Han Hue, Principal of Anh Duong Kindergarten, to quit her job from November 6, according to her personal wishes. Ms. Hue was involved in the incident of a 30,000 VND meal with only 2 pieces of ham at Anh Duong Kindergarten, which made many teachers upset.

According to the decision to resign, Ms. Hue is responsible for handing over tasks and related documents; is entitled to severance pay and other benefits (if any) according to regulations.

Previously, many teachers and workers of Anh Duong Kindergarten reported that they paid 30,000 VND/meal but the meals were quite poor and of poor quality, with only 2 slices of ham. After the complaints, the school returned the remaining meal money, allowing teachers to order their own meals from outside.

On September 21, Chau Duc district decided to conduct a comprehensive inspection of Anh Duong Kindergarten. On October 13, Ms. Phan Thi Han Hue submitted a resignation letter to the Chau Duc District People's Committee.

The reason given by Ms. Hue was due to too much pressure, poor health and continued treatment. Ms. Hue said that she did not seek personal gain but did not direct the issue of publicizing activities in a timely manner, leading to a lack of internal solidarity.

After the inspection period, the inspection team pointed out the shortcomings, limitations and shortcomings in the school's operations such as the implementation of democratic regulations, income increase, implementation of labor contracts, financial transparency...

The inspection conclusion clearly stated that the school principal did not properly implement regulations on grassroots democracy; did not demonstrate the role and responsibility of a leader; also allowed internal disunity to occur; and assigned the cooking staff to do additional work of cleaning the school yard, which was not appropriate for the job position.

The Chief Inspector of Chau Duc District has recommended that the school principal organize a thorough handling of the limitations and shortcomings. In particular, the principal is required to publicly disclose and refund more than VND 18 million to teachers and employees who paid for lunch from September 2023 to May 2024; publicly disclose and refund more than VND 5 million for summer lunch in 2024; and recover the amount that the school paid in excess of working days to a teacher during the school year.

At the same time, refund more than 25 million VND of the remaining amount in the summer of 2024 according to regulations.
