During the week of February 10-16, some common scams are warned:

- Romance fraud:

Under the guise of a romantic relationship, the subjects approach the victims via text messages, emails, dating apps... The subjects create a cover for themselves as single and successful... taking advantage of major holidays to deceive the victims.

Once someone responds, the subject will try to build trust over a period of time, before asking the victim to send money or entice them to invest in a fraudulent project.

The Information Security Department recommends that people should be careful when communicating and making friends online, especially through dating apps and social networks. Do not trust invitations to invest in finance and stocks online, and absolutely do not provide personal information to unknown people.

When you discover you have been scammed, you should immediately report it to the police for timely support.

According to the analysis of the Information Security Department, the subjects claimed to be tax agency employees, contacted the victims via phone, Zalo, Facebook... to invite the victims to the tax agency to confirm information and declare taxes electronically. After that, the subjects persuaded people to download fake applications on the app store.

If you agree to install this fake software, the scammer can control and secretly monitor the victim's phone; transfer money from bank account information and payment applications saved on the phone.

Some subjects also asked victims to provide some information: account to access the tax payment application via eTax Mobile, tax code, citizen identification card...

The Information Security Department recommends that when taxpayers receive calls, invitations, messages, etc., they should check the content and verify through official websites. Absolutely, do not provide personal information to anyone via phone or social networks.

- Aviation recruitment fraud

Accordingly, some subjects set up fake websites on social networks, taking advantage of the school's name to commit fraudulent acts in recruiting, training human resources in the aviation industry, studying abroad, scholarships...

When someone is interested, the subjects ask the victim to provide personal information as well as pay a fee to register for a scholarship...

Accordingly, the Information Security Department recommends that parents and students should be wary of promises of scholarship support and support for studying abroad but require payment of fees. Absolutely do not provide personal information or transfer money to unknown individuals.
