TPO - The Department of Information Security has coordinated with a number of units to open a class to teach digital skills and Internet safety for middle and high school students. The class is online and free, including for hearing-impaired children.

A representative of the Department of Information Security said that the course aims to enhance digital awareness and skills for secondary and high school students nationwide, posted on the Onetouch mass open online learning platform with the domain names onetouch.mic.gov.vn and onetouch.edu.vn.

The course is systematically designed, easy to understand, suitable for the psychology and learning ability of middle and high school students, including 5 main topics: introduction to the digital world, digital foundation knowledge, digital health, digital interaction and preventing fraud on the Internet.

The topics not only provide theoretical knowledge but also have practical exercises and real-life situations to help students practice critical thinking and self-protection skills in the online environment.

The content is updated according to the latest technology trends, helping students not only use the Internet safely but also know how to effectively exploit digital platforms for learning and personal development.

This is a free course with flexible and convenient study time. The course is led by a team of leading experts in the field of technology and digital education from Vietnet Information and Communication Technology Center (Vietnet-ICT).

“The guidance and communication of experts ensures the quality of teaching, helping students easily access accurate and useful information,” shared a representative of the Department of Information Security.

The course is part of the program "Digital Age Thinking", implemented within the framework of Decision No. 830/QD-TTg dated June 1, 2021 of the Prime Minister on protecting and supporting children to interact healthily and creatively in the online environment in the period 2021-2025.

Through the course, middle and high school students will be equipped with essential knowledge including digital skills and online safety. The highlight of the program is the special attention paid to deaf students when designing learning materials combined with sign language in teaching, suitable for their learning ability.

"This is a meaningful first step, opening up opportunities for equal access to knowledge for all students, including children with disabilities, to be equipped with the necessary knowledge and skills to stay safe in the online environment," said a representative of the Department of Information Security.

According to the agency, in the context of strong technological development, children and adolescents spend most of their time online for learning, entertainment and communication. Along with the benefits are risks such as online bullying, cyber fraud, privacy violations and Internet addiction. Therefore, equipping students with digital skills and knowledge to protect themselves is more urgent than ever.

Equipping the younger generation with digital knowledge and skills is the foundation for building a safe, healthy and creative community in the future. "We hope that through this course, each student will not only know how to protect themselves but also become ambassadors spreading knowledge about digital safety to the community," the Department of Information Security shared.
