Young people need timely mechanisms and policies to support and remove difficulties in order to pursue scientific research and master technology - Photo: QL
Before the dialogue session with the Prime Minister on the topic "Vietnamese youth pioneering the development of science and technology, innovation and national digital transformation", Tuoi Tre recorded the opinions of some young people.
* Student DO HOAI NAM (University of Technology, Ho Chi Minh City National University):
Safe space for students to dare to do and dare to experiment
Student DO HOAI NAM (University of Technology, Ho Chi Minh City National University)
As technology is becoming a core element in life, volunteer activities also need to apply science and technology to improve efficiency and sustainability, going into depth.
Students with knowledge and innovative thinking can play a pioneering role in applying technology to solve social problems.
I expect the Government to have policies to facilitate technology volunteer projects through funding and research infrastructure support.
At the same time, encourage businesses to accompany innovative volunteer projects, recognize and promote the replication of scientific and technological volunteer initiatives.
It is important to allow students to experiment and make mistakes when undertaking science and technology volunteer projects.
A safe space for students to dare to think, dare to do, dare to experiment and learn from mistakes will help the volunteer movement not only stop at ideas but also create value for society, so that volunteering is not temporary but becomes a sustainable driving force for social development.
* Mr. LE NHAT HOANG (AirCity Company Limited):
Opportunity for Vietnamese startups to grow
Mr. LE NHAT HOANG (AirCity Company Limited)
Starting a business, I pioneered the application of IoT technology and artificial intelligence (AI) in rental housing management.
Many convenient solutions and a diverse service ecosystem have helped optimize operational efficiency, improve quality and enhance the living experience for residents.
I see Singapore, Korea, Japan and China have proven that technology is extremely effective in improving the quality of the housing market, especially the low-income segment.
This is also the inspiration for us to continue to innovate and deploy highly applicable technological solutions.
As a young start-up, we aspire to accompany the national digital transformation process, contributing a part of value to the era of national development. At the same time, we provide financial incentives for start-ups to focus on innovation and creativity.
This will be a boost for Vietnamese startups to develop sustainably and together build a better society.
* Mr. TRAN MANH CUONG (Khanh Viet Corporation):
Step out of your comfort zone
Mr. TRAN MANH CUONG (Khanh Viet Corporation)
To engage with science and technology, young people must constantly learn, especially in the current context of technology and AI development.
Learn to master technology and turn it into a tool for your creative process.
Next, we need to be creative in production. In fact, work is the material and goal for innovation, creativity, and mastery of science and technology.
In our unit, union members participating in the topics that we calculated have benefited the company by at least more than 2 billion VND.
Along with support mechanisms, including government policies, the most important thing is that each young person dares to step out of their comfort zone. We must dare to do and break through to see the need to master science and technology, AI and turn them back to serve our work and life.
* Assoc.Prof.Dr. TRAN NGOC MAI (Banking Academy):
Untying the financial bottleneck in research
Assoc.Prof.Dr. TRAN NGOC MAI (Banking Academy)
We currently have laws related to science and technology, digital transformation, and many other regulations that create a comprehensive mechanism and policy to encourage and provide incentives for investment, finance, human resource development, promote scientific and technological activities, innovation, and digital transformation.
Resolution No. 57 of the Politburo on breakthroughs in science and technology development, innovation and national digital transformation opens up a clear corridor, promoting cooperation between research institutes, universities and businesses.
I believe that science and technology have the opportunity to receive many effective investment resources, becoming a "launching pad" for research.
However, it is necessary to remove financial bottlenecks in research because that makes many scientists afraid or unable to pursue their passion to the end.
Research is about creating, finding new things and may not be successful, so there needs to be a mechanism for "accepting risks" in part, even "investing in risks" for this. Doing so will encourage young people to be more dedicated to research and creative activities.
