"Sharing with teachers" to extend the "Teaching Journey"

On the morning of August 20, in Hanoi, the Central Committee of the Vietnam Youth Union, the Ministry of Education and Training, Thien Long Group and related units held a press conference to inform about the program "Sharing with teachers" in 2024.

According to Permanent Vice President of the Vietnam Youth Union Nguyen Kim Quy, entering its 10th year of implementation, the program will expand the honorees to encourage and support teachers in many regions, areas, and different specific fields.

Comrade Nguyen Kim Quy exchanged information about the program.

Specifically, the program will honor teachers working at remote schools in disadvantaged communes in Region III, ethnic minority and mountainous areas, schools in island districts and district-level administrative units with island communes; teachers teaching disabled students at facilities under the Ministry of Labor, War Invalids and Social Affairs, the Ministry of Education and Training; border guards participating in illiteracy eradication work; teachers at schools and reformatories managed by the Ministry of Public Security.

The criteria for selecting delegates of the program include: having good moral character and lifestyle; having many contributions to local education work, creating remarkable changes in the quality and effectiveness of education; persistently overcoming difficulties, devoted to the cause of education, recognized by students, parents, and the community; priority is given to individuals who have worked for many years or are young teachers who volunteer to work in remote, border, and island areas; direct teaching time of 3 years or more.

Within the framework of this year's program, there will be 2 contests "Appreciation for teachers - Sharing with teachers" on the social networking platform Tik Tok (from November 1 to 20, 2024) and "Press sharing with teachers" (from October 10 to November 10, 2024).

"In addition, gratitude journeys and companion activities will also be promoted, typically through social media campaigns with the participation of many prestigious and influential figures in the community, especially young people," said Mr. Nguyen Kim Quy.

Sharing her opinion at the press conference, Ms. Tran Phuong Nga, CEO of Thien Long Group said: "During nearly 50 years of establishment and development, we have always persistently accompanied the education sector. Further in terms of social responsibility, Thien Long Group wishes to express the aspiration to spread the culture of knowledge, in which teachers are the pillars.

Accompanying and promoting the value of teachers is to cultivate sustainable seeds. The 10-year journey of the program "Sharing with Teachers" has not only spread inspirational stories, but has truly fueled the nation's tradition of respecting teachers.

The Central Committee of the Vietnam Youth Union and Thien Long Group signed a cooperation agreement for the 2024-2029 period.

It is known that the program's commendation ceremony this year is expected to take place in Hanoi on the occasion of Vietnam Teachers' Day, November 20. At the ceremony, the Organizing Committee will honor and award each teacher a savings book worth 10 million VND along with a Certificate of Merit from the Ministry of Education and Training, a Certificate of Merit from the Central Committee of the Vietnam Youth Union and a Commemorative Medal of the program.

From 2015 to present, the program "Sharing with teachers" has honored 516 outstanding teachers in many different fields such as: working in remote areas, border areas, islands, areas with difficult socio-economic conditions; "green uniform" teachers; teachers working in special education, teaching ethnic minority students, being ethnic minorities, keeping the passion for the profession during the Covid-19 pandemic...
