On May 10, the Lang Giang District Fatherland Front Committee held a ceremony to inaugurate and hand over a Great Solidarity House to Ms. Nguyen Thi Phuong, born in 1947, in Mai Ha Village, Tan Thanh Commune. Ms. Phuong is a poor household and lives with her son. Ms. Phuong herself is old and weak, her son is not mentally alert, and does not have a stable job. Her old house was only 28 square meters wide, with a dirt floor, no kitchen, and no toilet.

Understanding the situation of Ms. Phuong's family, the Steering Committee for Eliminating Temporary and Dilapidated Houses in Lang Giang District, together with the Lang Giang District Business Association, supported the entire foundation, load-bearing frame, wall panels, ceilings and roofs along with the electrical system with a total value of 140 million VND. The Commune Steering Committee mobilized support for labor days for leveling the ground, concrete bricks, ceramic tiles for paving the yard, sand, gravel and cement worth 20 million VND. Ms. Phuong's relatives also participated in supporting nearly 15 million VND. With the joint efforts of the Front, businesses, Party committees, authorities, people of Mai Ha village, Tan Thanh commune and relatives, within just 1 month, Ms. Phuong had a spacious house with an area of 60m2, worth 200 million VND.

On the happy day of receiving the new house, Ms. Phuong emotionally shared that thanks to the support of the Front, philanthropists, the government, neighbors, and relatives, her family had more resources to complete the new house. In addition to financial support, commune officials, district officials, provincial Front officials, and relatives also regularly visited, helped, and gave gifts.

Attending and sharing the joy with Mrs. Nguyen Thi Phuong's family on the day of receiving the new house, Mr. Tran Cong Thang - Chairman of the Fatherland Front Committee of Bac Giang province, Deputy Head of the Standing Committee of the Steering Committee for Eliminating Temporary and Dilapidated Houses in Bac Giang province (Steering Committee 714) acknowledged and praised the spirit, responsibility and effective way of working of Lang Giang district in supporting the elimination of temporary and dilapidated houses for poor and near-poor households, and families of meritorious people with housing difficulties.

According to Mr. Thang, mobilizing support in the form of "Turnkey" for households that are unable to respond; implementing the construction of prefabricated house models with superior advantages over traditional house models, but the construction cost is only half is an effective way.

Praising the Party Committee, government and people of Mai Ha village, Tan Thanh commune for their solidarity and contributions with sponsors and Ms. Phuong's relatives to complete this meaningful project, Mr. Thang hoped that the Steering Committee for Eliminating Temporary and Dilapidated Houses at all levels in Lang Giang district would continue to pay attention so that the houses would be completed soon, handed over to poor and near-poor households and support families of meritorious people facing difficulties to have stable housing, feel secure in working and producing, develop the socio-economy and improve their lives. At the same time, he requested the local government and people of Mai Ha village to regularly pay attention and help so that Ms. Phuong's family, once they have "settled down", will have more conditions to rise out of poverty.

Also at the Great Solidarity House handover ceremony, the Standing Office of the Steering Committee 714 of Bac Giang province, leaders of Lang Giang district, the Fatherland Front Committee of Lang Giang district and local organizations and unions, along with benefactors, also gave meaningful gifts to Ms. Phuong's family.
