President Putin also stated that the key to solving the Ukraine problem lies with the West: "If they really want to end the current conflict with the help of negotiations, they need to make only one decision - to stop supplying weapons and equipment. That's it."
Regarding the shelling of some Russian border areas, President Putin said that they would be better prepared, knowing that the enemy would behave in this way. And if this continues, Russia will have to consider creating some kind of “clean zone” on the territory of Ukraine at such a distance that shelling cannot reach the territory of this country. However, he stressed that “this is a separate issue” and will not start tomorrow, it is necessary to see how the situation develops.
According to the Russian leader, as for the border regions, which Ukraine attacked, it was primarily a desire to attract Russian forces and means in this direction, withdrawing part of the units from those areas that were considered the most important and key from the point of view of a possible attack by the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
