This morning, August 3, the Department of Cultivation and Plant Protection of Quang Tri province held a ceremony to receive the Third Class Labor Medal and a meeting on the occasion of its 35th anniversary (1989-2024). Over 35 years of construction and development, overcoming many difficulties and challenges, the collective leadership and staff of the Provincial Department of Plant Protection have stuck to the fields, waded in the fields, transferred scientific and technological advances, new varieties, new cultivation processes into agricultural production; proactively and effectively implemented the work of forecasting and predicting pests and diseases and well managed the quality of crop varieties.
At the same time, it has advised on the issuance of many important programs, projects and policies to serve the cause of agricultural, farmer and rural development and actively connected and invited businesses to participate in production, processing and product consumption linkages, contributing to bringing the province's agricultural sector to a new level of development.

Thanks to that, the average rice yield in 2023 of the whole province will reach 58 quintals/ha, the output of grain will reach 305.6 thousand tons, 35 quintals/ha higher and an increase of more than 190,000 tons compared to the early days of the province's re-establishment. Many agricultural products of the province have high economic value, meeting the needs of domestic and international markets, contributing to affirming the effectiveness in all three aspects of economy - society - environment such as: Quang Tri organic rice; Khe Sanh Arabica specialty coffee; Vinh Linh pepper...

After 35 years of construction and development, with its continuous efforts, the Provincial Department of Plant Protection has been honored to receive the Third Class Labor Medal from the State; many collectives and individuals have received certificates of merit from the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development, the Provincial People's Committee, and the Department of Agriculture and Rural Development.
Speaking at the ceremony, Permanent Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Ha Sy Dong commended, acknowledged and congratulated the efforts and achievements of generations of leaders, civil servants, public employees and workers of the Provincial Department of Crop Production and Plant Protection in the past time. At the same time, he requested the Provincial Department of Crop Production and Plant Protection to continue to "resolutely innovate, unite, be responsible, effective and proactively integrate", especially in the work of linking large-scale production according to sustainable value chains, organic production, granting planting area codes, and applying science and technology to increase added value and sustainable development.
Actively advise and propose solutions to effectively exploit the province's natural and socio-economic resources; strengthen management and transfer of new, suitable, high-yield, high-quality plant varieties that are resistant to pests and diseases, adapt to climate change and meet diverse market demands.
Continue to strictly manage the quality of seeds, fertilizers, and pesticides; increase the use of organic fertilizers, microbiological fertilizers, biological pesticides, and herbs. Improve the organizational capacity and management policies and mechanisms of the crop and plant protection industry to ensure streamlining, professionalism, efficiency, and conformity with the market economy, international economic integration, and legal regulations.
