To proactively prevent and control harmful organisms, ensuring safety for successful spring crop production, the Department of Agriculture and Rural Development has announced the peak of harmful organisms on rice; coordinated with localities to strengthen field inspection, early detection of harmful organisms to have timely, safe and effective treatment measures, not allowing pests to spread; conducted additional surveys of pests to determine the specific location, scale, area and level of damage of each object.
Along with that, the Department guides farmers to apply some measures to prevent and control harmful pests such as cutting off egg nests, cutting off withered stems of stem borers, and removing leaves with brown leaf spot disease in the fields; using biological and herbal pesticides, low toxicity, and specific pesticides to spray when the pest density and disease rate reach the prevention threshold, ensuring the principle of "4 rights - right medicine, right time, right concentration, right dosage, and right method".
