This morning (June 10), the Ministry of Education and Training chaired and coordinated with the Vietnam Association for Promoting Education and relevant agencies to organize the launching ceremony of the Movement "The whole country competes to build a learning society, promoting lifelong learning in the period 2023 - 2030". The event was held in person and online to 63 provincial/municipal bridges nationwide.

The launching ceremony of the Movement "The whole country competes to build a learning society, promote lifelong learning in the period of 2023 - 2030" with the aim of continuing to promote the strength of the entire political system in propagating and raising awareness of all classes of people about the role, significance and necessity of lifelong learning, building a learning society.

Accordingly, the implementation of these Projects has brought about many important results. The network of continuing education facilities has been consolidated and developed rapidly in terms of quantity, diversified in models, and activities have brought about practical results to better meet the learning needs of the people.

At the event, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh delivered a speech launching the Movement "The whole country competes to build a learning society, promoting lifelong learning in the period 2023 - 2030".

Accordingly, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh emphasized that this is an important movement to raise awareness and action on building a learning society, promoting lifelong learning for all people. The Prime Minister affirmed that learning, working, contributing and enjoying are essential and objective needs of each individual in the process of social development. Every citizen has the responsibility and right to study regularly, study for life, and take advantage of every learning opportunity to become a digital citizen, a global citizen.

The Prime Minister said that our country's education has undergone important changes, the education network has been expanded across the country, especially in remote, border, island and ethnic minority areas, many educational "weaknesses" have been overcome, there are many rich, diverse and suitable types of training, bringing learning opportunities to people of all ages.

On behalf of the Government, the Prime Minister acknowledged and commended the efforts and warmly congratulated the achievements that all levels, sectors and localities have achieved in promoting learning, talent and building a learning society, especially the important role of the education sector and the Vietnam Association for Promoting Education.

To create stronger changes in building a learning society, improving people's knowledge, training human resources, nurturing talents, and ensuring equality in learning for all people, the Prime Minister suggested continuing to thoroughly grasp and effectively implement the Party and State's policies and guidelines on education, training, encouraging learning, encouraging talents, and building a learning society.

Review and perfect mechanisms and policies on building a learning society in the direction of diversification, linking learning with practice, talent with virtue, suitable for each subject and each locality through new models and good practices. Promote the activities of educational institutions and grassroots cultural institutions.

The Prime Minister emphasized: "On this occasion, I propose and call on the Central Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front, socio-political organizations, professional organizations, social organizations, unions, business communities, organizations and individuals at home and abroad to actively participate, join hands, contribute and respond to activities to encourage learning and talent, build a learning society, and contribute to realizing the aspiration to develop a prosperous and happy country. I officially announce the launch of the movement "The whole country competes to build a learning society, promote lifelong learning in the period of 2023 - 2030".

Strengthening mechanisms and policies to support people in learning

In her report at the ceremony, Dr. Ngo Thi Minh - Deputy Minister of Education and Training expressed that lifelong learning and building a learning society have always been policies that the Party and State pay special attention to. Up to now, our country's education has achieved many remarkable achievements such as forming a unified national education system from preschool education to postgraduate training.

However, the representative of the Ministry of Education and Training also wishes to propose to the Prime Minister to launch and direct each agency, organization, individual in society, businesses, households and each citizen to focus on doing a good job of propaganda, dissemination, raising awareness and effectiveness of the work of promoting learning, promoting talents, building a learning society in the conditions of the digital economy and digital society.

"In addition, it is necessary to promote initiatives and solutions to encourage and develop a reading culture in the community, contributing to building a learning society, competing to build mechanisms and policies to support and promote the activities of educational institutions and cultural and information institutions at the grassroots level, creating favorable conditions for all citizens to have the opportunity to learn throughout their lives," said Ms. Minh.

Representing the Vietnam Association for Promoting Education, Prof. Dr. Nguyen Thi Doan - Former Vice President, President of the Vietnam Association for Promoting Education also presented the association's tasks in the coming time.

“The Association for Promotion of Education develops a plan and launches this emulation movement throughout the Association system with specific contents, criteria and solutions to implement related contents. Periodically, there are interim and final summaries to promptly draw lessons from experience.

In particular, we will continue to do a good job of propaganda so that people can better understand the emulation movement in the field of promoting learning, promoting talents, and building a learning society, in order to contribute to changing awareness in the community, thereby implementing well the set emulation targets," said Ms. Doan.

The Vietnam Association for Promoting Education also closely coordinates with the signed units, especially with the Ministry of Education and Training, to create a combined strength to effectively implement the learning models: learning families, learning clans, learning communities, learning units, learning districts, learning provinces and learning citizens assigned by the Government. By effectively implementing the above learning models, we will have the desired learning society .
