The province has minerals such as: gold, gemstones, crystalline quartz, feldspar, limestone, marble, paving stones, peat, construction stone, clay, construction sand... Regarding mineral exploration, from 2020 to 2023, the Provincial People's Committee has issued 16 licenses. Regarding mineral exploitation (KTKS), from 2020 to 2024, the province has issued, renewed, and adjusted 37 licenses. In addition, the Provincial People's Committee also allows exploitation (minerals accompanied by topsoil as filling materials) for 19 quarry areas.

The mineral mines that have been and are being exploited in the province are mainly common construction material minerals, small and medium scale, exploited by open-pit method. The KTKS units in the province strictly comply with the provisions of the law on minerals, land, environment, and water resources.
However, some units still exist, with limitations such as not submitting periodic reports on KTKS activities; exploiting outside the permitted exploitation boundaries; not collecting statistics through weighing stations; not installing weighing stations at the place where raw minerals are transported out of the mine to monitor and store related information; exploiting minerals beyond capacity... In addition, some localities still have illegal mineral exploitation, especially exploitation of landfill soil, sand, and gravel from river beds.

The monitoring delegation requested the authorities to clarify some issues related to illegal mining in the province; coordination in mineral management, detection and handling of violations associated with the responsibilities of departments, branches and localities; assessment of the protection of unexploited minerals; issuance and extension of licenses; management of mining volume, supervision of weighing station installation, etc.

Permanent Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Council Tran Phu Hung - Head of the monitoring delegation affirmed that, in recent times, the Provincial People's Committee has issued many documents on State management of minerals, thereby gradually improving the responsibility of functional agencies and localities. However, through monitoring and actual surveys in localities, it shows that management and technical inspection work still has some shortcomings and limitations.
The monitoring delegation requested departments, branches and localities to continue to promote the dissemination of laws on minerals, especially in places where mineral exploration and exploitation activities take place; strengthen state management, guide the effective implementation of regulations and have coordination regulations between agencies, units and localities; protect and strictly manage unexploited minerals; focus on inspection and examination, limit the loss of resources and state budget...
