Need to move electric poles in the middle of Provincial Road 183

BHG - Provincial road DT.183, from Yen Binh town to Bang Lang, Xuan Giang, Tien Nguyen, Vi Thuong (Quang Binh), Dong Yen (Bac Quang) communes, has started investment and upgrading since April 2023 and is being actively constructed to ensure the set schedule. During the construction process of widening the roadbed and cutting curves, some 0.4kV power poles on the old roadside moved to the middle of the new road. However, after nearly 2 years of project implementation, some power poles in Bang Lang commune have not been moved to a new location, causing traffic insecurity and potential risks of accidents for people and vehicles passing through.

The project to renovate and upgrade DT.183 has a total length of 36.5 km, invested by the Provincial Traffic Construction Project Management Board (now the Provincial Construction Project Management Board); total investment is over 300 billion VND. The project has a standard design of a grade IV mountainous road with a roadbed width of 7.5m, road surface of 5.5m, 2x1m wide roadside, reinforced 0.5m on each side as the road surface structure; high-class road surface A1 (asphalt concrete); construction of 7 new reinforced concrete and prestressed reinforced concrete bridges; longitudinal and transverse drainage systems and traffic safety auxiliary works.

According to information from Quang Binh Power Company, the construction of the DT.183 upgrade project has caused some 0.4 kV power line poles to be in the middle of the road. In addition, there are 2 35 kV power lines on the Ban Yen - Bua Lo branch that are at risk of breaking, collapsing, and losing power line safety due to the construction of lowering the roadbed and slope. Quang Binh Power Company has coordinated with relevant units to prepare documents to move the pole positions in the project's affected area, but to date, there are still some positions that cannot be moved.

Directly recording the above road section, there are 3 electric poles in Bang Lang commune lying "right" in the middle of the road, causing obstruction and danger to people and vehicles participating in traffic. Although the electric poles have been hung with warning signs for vehicles to pay attention to avoid tragic accidents. However, according to some households living around this area, when it is dark and at night, visibility is limited, so there have been accidents when motorbikes collide with electric poles in the middle of the road. Fortunately, no serious, unfortunate incidents have occurred. The local Party Committee, government and people living around this area have made many requests but have not been resolved. It is recommended that the Compensation and Site Clearance Council and the project contractor coordinate with Quang Binh Electricity to soon find a solution to move the above electric poles.
