According to Ho Chi Minh City Police, this drug ring was organized very sophisticatedly and systematically. The subjects colluded with a number of foreigners to illegally buy, sell, and transport drugs across the country, in very large quantities from Laos through the land border of the North Central provinces to Ho Chi Minh City for consumption. The subjects assigned tasks to each member strictly.

The police force's pursuit encountered many difficulties; however, with tireless efforts, Ho Chi Minh City Police, in coordination with the Drug Crime Investigation Police Department (C04), Ministry of Public Security, simultaneously raided many locations, arrested 26 subjects, seized nearly 300kg of various drugs, 1 gun and many related exhibits.

Most of the drugs were disguised as tea bags hidden in closets and clothes. When arrested, many subjects were stubborn and refused to confess.

Currently, Ho Chi Minh City Police are coordinating with Department C04 and local police to continue to expand the investigation and arrest key suspects.

Previously, through the investigation of the area, Ho Chi Minh City Police discovered a transnational drug trafficking and transportation ring, so together with C04 and local police, they established a special project to destroy it.
