Not only has many famous landscapes and historical relics, Cam Pha has great potential for services and sea and island tourism with a sea surface area of over 150km² including 50 large and small islands. Cam Pha also has 73km of coastline with large seaports, especially the deep-water port system: Cua Ong, Hon Net - Con Ong; has three tourist beaches...
Cam Pha is also identified as a bridge between the two tourist areas of the province (Ha Long and Van Don - Co To). In particular, the Bai Tu Long Bay island area in the city also has beautiful, pristine landscapes and rich potential.
Therefore, expanding space to the South, exploiting the strengths of the sea and islands is a direction of interest. "To promote this potential, Cam Pha focuses on exploiting, researching, proposing tours and routes; promoting new products, and actively coordinating with functional agencies to accelerate progress... to soon realize the journeys, awaken and promote the true potential of the sea" - Mr. Bui Hai Son, Head of the Department of Culture and Information of Cam Pha City, shared.
It can be seen that, in recent times, Cam Pha has really paid attention to, accelerated the construction and expansion of tourism space. First of all, the city has clearly outlined in the Resolution, the tourism development plan to 2025 with a vision to 2030, the orientation of exploiting sea tourism, expanding space to the South, developing sea tourism connections with Ha Long, Van Don... This is also a step to concretize the province's plans and projects on developing tourism products associated with Bai Tu Long Bay and sea and island tourism.
To realize this soon, Cam Pha actively researched, reviewed and investigated tourism resources on Bai Tu Long Bay connecting with Ha Long Bay, and assessed the current status as a basis for developing products. From the beginning of 2024, Cam Pha City proposed tourism products and routes from the wharves in Cam Pha to Ha Long Bay and Bai Tu Long Bay; proposed to add to the province's planning the overnight boat stops on Bai Tu Long Bay in Cam Pha.
Accordingly, Cam Pha proposed to build new products, including: Overnight tourist routes on Bai Tu Long Bay (Vung Duc - Hon Xep Park route) and 3 new daytime tourist routes (Route 1: Cam Pha Port, wharf - Ong Cu Island; Route 2: Cam Pha Port, wharf - Ban Sen; Route 3: Cam Pha Port, wharf - Quan Lan Island, Minh Chau).
At the same time, closely coordinate with the Tourism and Transport sectors to survey and evaluate resources, advantages and difficulties in implementation. Cam Pha is also interested in expanding space by implementing experiences in marine aquaculture areas associated with tourism development; speeding up investment in 3 anchorage points towards overnight stays on Bai Tu Long Bay.
Notably, last April, the city connected and worked with TUI Musement Group, which manages and operates major cruise lines (such as Meinchift Cruises, Alida Cruises, MSC Cruises) and related units, and conducted a survey of tourist destinations and products serving cruise passengers.
In addition, Cam Pha also plans to develop a fleet of 50-80 tourist boats, including about 20 cruise ships serving tourists staying overnight on the bay; promote the promotion of the marine economy through many major events; install BTS stations to cover mobile waves; pay attention to ports and tourist transport fleets; coordinate with localities, departments, and businesses to deploy tourism products connected to Bai Tu Long Bay.
Thanks to that, up to now, initial results have been achieved such as speeding up the survey progress, implementing and putting into operation new tours and products, such as: Vung Duc - Hon Xep Park tourist route; Halong Bay - Bai Tu Long itinerary designed specifically for cruise passengers; New route "Heritage Journey" connecting Ha Long Bay - Bai Tu Long Bay by luxury cruise ship Grand Pioneers 2 deployed since May 2024...
Although there have been some initial positive results, showing the right direction, awakening the great potential of Cam Pha sea tourism. But in the long term, to develop sustainably and diversify experiences, the locality needs to Survey investment in routes, traffic infrastructure, ports and other basic infrastructure and services according to current regulations...
