Implementing the program "Month of Action with Women" in 2024, the Standing Committee of the Women's Union and the Standing Committee of the City Fatherland Front Committee provided livelihood support to 4 poor female union member families with a total amount of more than 40 million VND; thereby helping female union members develop their economy and escape poverty.
Responding to the program "Accompanying women in the border areas", in Quan Ba district, Ha Giang province, the City Women's Union handed over a well project; presented 30 gifts and 200 Ao Dai sets to female members...
Activities to support women in poverty reduction are of interest. Associations at all levels conduct reviews of poor households, identify causes of poverty according to new criteria and develop specific support plans suitable for each target group.
The movements “Women help each other develop family economy”, “Help poor women have addresses”… continue to be maintained and promoted effectively. Women’s associations in the whole province have built more than 2,700 savings and credit groups; maintained hundreds of savings models such as “Plastic savings”, “Loyalty piggy bank”, “Concentrated rice savings box”, “Raising piggy banks - sending love”…
With specific solutions, from 2020 to now, the provincial women's unions at all levels have helped nearly 2,200 poor, near-poor and disadvantaged member households, of which nearly 900 households have escaped poverty and near-poverty. More than 5 billion VND has been mobilized to build 84 new houses and repair 22 charity houses.
The Provincial Women's Union has mobilized businesses to support the donation of warm houses to two policy families in Tam Dao and Yen Lac districts; donated more than 19,500 energy-saving stoves, more than 12,000 water filters and hundreds of gifts to member families, poor women, single women in difficult circumstances, etc.
Responding to the program "Godmother - Connecting love", the association at all levels sponsored more than 290 orphans in difficult circumstances with a support amount of more than 6 billion VND...
Creating conditions and supporting members to develop the economy, contributing to the locality's implementation of the goal of sustainable poverty reduction, women's associations at all levels have promoted propaganda and mobilized members to change the structure of crops and livestock, apply advanced science and technology in production, contributing to the formation of specialized commodity cultivation areas, meeting consumer needs; organizing mutual support activities, helping members to escape poverty such as giving seeds, seedlings, production materials, working days...
At the same time, proactively exploit capital sources to support loans for members through socio-economic development programs and projects, capital from the Social Policy Bank, TYM Fund... The association at all levels is managing more than 2,100 billion VND, lending capital to more than 45,000 members to develop the economy, expand production and business.
Implementing Project 939 on “Supporting women to start businesses” and Project 01 on “Supporting cooperatives managed by women and creating jobs for female workers”, the Provincial Women's Union has organized many training courses to improve capacity for more than 1,000 business owners, cooperative management boards, and business household owners.
From 2020 to present, the association at all levels has directed the establishment of 3 cooperatives, 12 cooperative groups, and 46 production linkage groups to create conditions for members to support each other in production linkage and product consumption.
In the coming time, the association at all levels will step up propaganda and mobilize cadres and members to effectively carry out emulation movements and campaigns associated with the association's core tasks; support women in accessing preferential loans to develop production and business; mobilize organizations, individuals and philanthropists to join hands in supporting women to escape poverty sustainably; maintain and replicate highly effective economic development models...
