According to the Tourism Information Center, Vietnam National Administration of Tourism, during the 5-day holiday, the average room occupancy rate at tourist accommodation establishments nationwide reached approximately 60%, on peak days reaching above 70%, some point to the coast to reach occupancy rate 95-100% during the holidays.

Most key tourist destinations across the country have recorded positive signals with the number of visitors increasing compared to the same period in 2023. The railway industry has increased trains from Hanoi to Dong Hoi, Vinh, Thanh Hoa, Lao Cai, Ho Chi Minh City and vice versa; from Ho Chi Minh City to Da Nang, Nha Trang, Phan Thiet, Quy Nhon and reduced ticket prices for train passengers. In general, thanks to the timely attention and direction of the Government, the Prime Minister, and the leaders of the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism, tourist services during the April 30 - May 1 holiday this year were prepared early; localities and businesses proactively ensured security and safety of tourism activities, food hygiene and safety, and prevented unfortunate accidents and incidents.
This year's holiday lasted 5 days, so most destinations welcomed more visitors, longer stays, and higher revenue compared to the same period in 2023. Notably, the number of international visitors still had good growth momentum despite the peak season. Room rates and tourism services did not fluctuate much. Security, order, environmental sanitation, and food safety at destinations were guaranteed. The proactive preparation and organization of many large-scale cultural, festival, and sports events in localities and tourist centers, especially the support of businesses, has created many new tourism products, promoting the demand for entertainment, sightseeing, and relaxation during the holiday season and the peak summer tourism season of 2024.
In addition, to adapt to the rising domestic airfares, many travel agencies have diversified their tour types by increasing high-quality car tours on short trips; combining trains, cars, and waterways on long trips, both reducing tour costs and enhancing customer experiences. Increasing the trend of self-driving to destinations within a short radius to freely explore, experience, and increase initiative in the journey during the April 30 - May 1 holiday this year.
