The site clearance work for the Bien Hoa - Vung Tau expressway is currently progressing well, and the locality is also speeding up the process of helping people choose resettlement land so they can settle down soon.

According to the Land Fund Development Center of Dong Nai province, tomorrow (February 20), 165 more households in Phuoc Tan ward, Bien Hoa city, Dong Nai will be drawn for resettlement on the Bien Hoa - Vung Tau expressway (phase 1), the section through Bien Hoa city, Dong Nai province.

Bien Hoa City leaders and related units have set up a working group to knock on every door to mobilize people to hand over land for the Bien Hoa - Vung Tau expressway.

Households who are selected for this draw will be arranged to be resettled in a resettlement area of nearly 50 hectares in Phuoc Tan Ward. It is expected that this resettlement area will start construction next March. Allowing people to choose their resettlement lots early will also help the project's site clearance work go more smoothly.

According to Dong Nai Provincial People's Committee, the resettlement area is implementing construction drawing design and compensation work.

Previously, on November 12, 2024, Dong Nai Provincial People's Committee approved the project to build infrastructure for a resettlement area of nearly 50 hectares in Phuoc Tan ward, mainly to serve the resettlement of the Bien Hoa - Vung Tau expressway project (phase 1).

This resettlement area accommodates 1,066 lots with a population of 4,248 people and 4 high-rise blocks with a population of 3,752 people. The total scale is about 8,000 people. The project has a total investment of more than 1,117 billion VND from the provincial budget.

The highway surface through Phuoc Tan ward is progressing better.

The Bien Hoa - Vung Tau Expressway Construction Investment Project (Phase 1) through Bien Hoa City is 6.2km long, with a total land area to be recovered of 59.5 hectares and more than 1,500 households to be relocated.

It is known that up to now, the land area handed over on the ground to implement the project through Phuoc Tan and Tam Phuoc wards is nearly 44.5 hectares, reaching nearly 75% of the land area that needs to be recovered. The total length of each section that is eligible for construction has been handed over 4.68/6.2km, corresponding to 75.5% of the length of the route through the area.

The remaining area is in the area of 666 households. Most of these households bought and sold land by hand-written documents; built illegal houses and are not eligible for resettlement.

In January 2025, the Dong Nai Provincial Land Fund Development Center also coordinated with the People's Committees of Phuoc Tan Ward and Tam Phuoc Ward to organize a resettlement lottery for more than 80 cases.

Currently, the authorities are continuing to review and approve resettlement for households. Cases with houses to be cleared but not eligible for resettlement are proposed to be given priority to buy social housing.

In addition, to speed up land clearance, Bien Hoa City, Dong Nai is implementing a 10-day campaign of propaganda and mobilization these days. With 6 mobilization teams, in the past few days, on average, cadres have mobilized 20-30 households per day to hand over land for the project.
