Ho Chi Minh City Command received the title of Hero of the People's Armed Forces for the third time.

On January 4, the Ho Chi Minh City Party Committee and Command held a ceremony to receive the title of Hero of the People's Armed Forces. This is the third time the Ho Chi Minh City Armed Forces have been honored with this noble title.

Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh attended the ceremony to receive the title of Hero of the People's Armed Forces from the Ho Chi Minh City Command.

Attending the announcement ceremony were Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh and Politburo members: General Phan Van Giang, Minister of National Defense; General Luong Tam Quang, Minister of Public Security; Secretary of the Ho Chi Minh City Party Committee Nguyen Van Nen.

Also attending the ceremony were representatives of leaders and former leaders of the Party, State, Government, Vietnam Fatherland Front Central Committee; leaders and former leaders of Central Committees and branches; agencies of Military Region 7; leaders and former leaders of Ho Chi Minh City and leaders of provinces, cities, agencies and units inside and outside the army; officers and soldiers of the city's armed forces.

Established on September 4, 1945, the Ho Chi Minh City Armed Forces have undergone a process of construction, growth and continuous development, achieved many resounding victories, and together with the whole country won glorious victories.

In the new period, with the attention and leadership of the Party, the State, the Ministry of National Defense, Military Region 7, the leaders of Ho Chi Minh City and the trust and support of the people, the city's armed forces have made remarkable progress, always ready to receive, complete and excel in all tasks in any situation.

During the Covid-19 pandemic, the HCM City Armed Forces participated and achieved excellent results in preventing and fighting the Covid-19 pandemic. Thereby, it affirmed its core role, bravery, intelligence, and high responsibility towards the people; not afraid of difficulties, hardships, sacrifices, and pioneering on the front line against the pandemic.

In addition to the above achievements, the Ho Chi Minh City Command also has outstanding achievements in coordinating to maintain political security and social order and safety. The Party Committee and the City Command regularly coordinate to research, evaluate, and accurately forecast the situation; advise the City Party Committee and the City People's Committee to lead and direct the effective handling of defense and security situations.

Notably, the city's armed forces have always maintained strict combat readiness; heightened vigilance, proactive flexibility, and responsiveness; coordinated to ensure absolute security and safety during holidays, Tet, major political events, and more than 500 delegations visiting and working in the city.

On the same morning, the delegation of the City Party Committee, People's Council, People's Committee, and Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Ho Chi Minh City held a ceremony to report achievements to Uncle Ho at the President Ho Chi Minh Monument Park.
