Thanh Cong Group (TC Group) has officially inaugurated and put into operation Thanh Cong Viet Hung Automobile Factory, which produces the first Skoda car models in Vietnam.

Attending the inauguration ceremony were: Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of Foreign Affairs Bui Thanh Son; Minister of Industry and Trade Nguyen Hong Dien; Deputy Minister of Industry and Trade Truong Thanh Hoai; and representatives of leaders of Departments and Institutes under the Ministry of Industry and Trade, Ministry of Construction, Ministry of Finance, State Bank of Vietnam and representatives of departments, branches, of Hanoi, Hai Phong, Hai Duong, Bac Giang.

On the side of Quang Ninh province, there were Secretary of the Quang Ninh Provincial Party Committee Vu Dai Thang; Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the Quang Ninh Provincial People's Committee Pham Duc An; comrades in the Standing Committee of the Provincial Party Committee, the Provincial Party Executive Committee, the Provincial National Assembly Delegation, the Provincial People's Council, the Provincial People's Committee, representatives of departments, branches and sectors; representatives of the leaders of Ha Long city and districts, towns and cities in Quang Ninh province.

Speaking at the factory inauguration ceremony, Minister of Industry and Trade Nguyen Hong Dien said: "Promoting the development of key and fundamental industries (including the automobile industry), creating a driving force for the country's industrialization and modernization is one of the major and consistent policies of our Party and State.

Over the past years, the Government and relevant ministries and branches have directed the development and implementation of many strategies, plans, mechanisms, incentive policies, support, and creating favorable conditions for the development of the automobile industry, focusing on encouraging investment in large-scale automobile manufacturing and assembly projects using advanced and modern technology; promoting cooperation and association between domestic and foreign automobile manufacturing and assembly enterprises to improve domestic automobile production capacity, gradually participating effectively in the production and supply chain in the region and the world.

Minister Nguyen Hong Dien said that Thanh Cong Viet Hung Automobile Factory is invested with modern technology, advanced production process according to international standards, with a capacity of 120,000 vehicles/year, a fairly large project, in line with the Vietnam Automobile Industry Development Strategy to 2025, vision to 2035; affirming the dynamism, creativity, and spectacular growth of Thanh Cong Group in terms of production capacity, competitiveness, and ability to participate in the automobile production and supply chain in the region and globally. At the same time, it demonstrates the good partnership, complementary and mutually supportive between the two economies of Vietnam and the Czech Republic.

“ With large capacity and highly automated production lines, I believe that the factory will contribute positively to the development of the domestic automobile industry, while also contributing positively to economic development, creating many jobs, and increasing income for local workers, ” Minister Nguyen Hong Dien emphasized.

New milestone in the automotive industry

Thanh Cong Viet Hung Automobile Factory, with a capacity of 120,000 vehicles/year, has greatly enhanced TC Group's production capacity of high-quality vehicles. The first car to leave the factory assembled in the form of 100% imported components (CKD) is the Skoda Kushaq.

Thanh Cong Viet Hung Automobile Factory demonstrates TC Group's commitment to expanding cooperation with prestigious brands in the international market. The factory's rapid production and delivery of the first European car is a testament to TC Group's contribution to the overall development of the Government's Vietnam Automobile Industry Development Strategy to 2025, vision 2035. Completed within 25 months, Thanh Cong Viet Hung Automobile Factory has a total area of ​​36.5 hectares; capacity of 120,000 vehicles/year.

The production lines: Welding, painting and finishing assembly are invested in modern, highly automated, in accordance with strict international standards and those of Skoda Auto globally. The intelligent robot system is integrated in every stage at each workshop, helping to optimize accuracy, improve efficiency and ensure product quality at the highest level, providing the market with high-quality, energy-saving, environmentally friendly vehicles. The factory is also designed as a safe, civilized, friendly workplace for the health of workers.

On March 26, Thanh Cong Viet Hung Automobile Factory officially launched its first car, the Skoda Kushaq, a model certified by Skoda to meet global quality standards, ready to enter commercial production and supply to the market in the second quarter of 2025.

This is the next major result in the cooperation between TC Group and Skoda Auto - a 130-year-old European car brand from the Czech Republic, with the goal of bringing to Vietnamese consumers European-quality cars at reasonable prices. TC Group expects the first Skoda car factory in Southeast Asia to be the center for supplying Skoda cars to the regional market.

Speaking at the event, Mr. Nguyen Anh Tuan - Chairman of the Board of Directors of Thanh Cong Group said that the Thanh Cong Viet Hung automobile factory project is a large-scale invested factory belonging to the Thanh Cong Viet Hung Automobile and Supporting Industry Complex. Thanh Cong Group has planned and invested in many items, ready to expand cooperation in European automobile technology industry, to improve production capacity, technological capacity, and diversify product types from green vehicles, electric vehicles, internal combustion engine vehicles, special vehicles, and specialized vehicles in the future.

Mr. Pham Duc An, Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee and Chairman of the People's Committee of Quang Ninh Province, commented: "Thanh Cong Viet Hung Automobile Factory is a key project, a driving force for the development of Quang Ninh in the coming years. In the future, the factory will contribute to increasing budget revenue, creating jobs and training high-quality human resources for the locality."

The factory's operation and the production of the first car, the Skoda Kushaq, marks an important milestone in the cooperation between TC Group and Skoda in expanding the European car market in Vietnam and spreading the Skoda brand in the ASEAN region. We expect that this cooperation will bring mutual success to both Skoda and TC Group. I look forward to seeing the first standard quality Škoda cars coming out of the Thanh Cong Viet Hung automobile factory distributed to customers".

In addition to completing the investment in the Skoda automobile manufacturing and assembly plant at Thanh Cong Viet Hung Automobile and Supporting Industry Complex on a total area of ​​301 hectares, Thanh Cong Group has also been investing heavily in infrastructure and supporting items such as Logistic warehouse; test track; assembly station; fuel station, welding and stamping factory, auto supporting equipment manufacturing factories... to create a strong and reliable infrastructure to attract investors to localize auto components, participate in the supply chain of high-quality auto components for the Vietnamese and international markets. TC Group's orientation ensures development according to the general orientation of the Government and realizes the vision of a large-scale, modern auto industrial complex of Quang Ninh and Vietnam.
