The Ministry of Information and Communications said that recently, in order to minimize spam calls and calls with signs of fraud, the Ministry of Information and Communications has requested units and enterprises to implement many measures such as: directing telecommunications enterprises to deploy connections and authenticate subscriber information databases with the national population database to standardize subscriber information and handle violations.

In 2023, telecommunications businesses blocked about 50 million spam messages and 50,000 subscribers sending spam calls and calls with signs of fraud each month.

In addition, mobile telecommunications businesses have completed processing 17 million subscribers whose information does not match the information in the national database on population and subscribers with registered identification documents, owning more than 10 SIMs/1 identification document, contributing to preventing the spread of spam calls and spam messages.

The Ministry of Information and Communications has also implemented call identification, all phone numbers calling to people from units under the Ministry of Information and Communications display the identifier name "BO TTTT". In addition, phone numbers of telecommunications enterprises when calling customers using the service also display the identifier name.

In addition, the units propagate and warn telecommunications service users about fraudulent calls; strengthen monitoring, tracking, warning, and blocking of malicious domain names. In the coming time, the Ministry of Information and Communications will advise the Government to consider soon issuing a decree to replace Decree No. 72, dated July 15, 2013 on the management, provision and use of internet services and online information, which requires phone number confirmation for social network accounts.
