An Giang Provincial Border Guard builds new rural areas, cares for the poor in the border area

In the past 5 years, implementing 2 emulation movements, there have been many programs and models that have brought practical results, such as: "Border Spring - Warming the hearts of the villagers", "Accompanying women in the border areas", "Helping children go to school - Adopted children of border stations", "Charity rice jar", "Women's group self-managing border lines and national border markers", "Combined military-civilian medical station"... contributing to building an increasingly prosperous rural border area, improving the material and spiritual life of the people.

The units coordinated with local Party committees, authorities, departments, branches and organizations to mobilize resources to support and help people in difficult circumstances. Thereby, they presented 86 "Border Warm Homes", "Love Houses", and "Great Solidarity Houses"; 25,472 gifts, 7.9 tons of rice, 3.7 tons of rice seeds, 118 livelihood capital, 379 scholarships, 5,200 notebooks, 208 bicycles, 5 billion VND in cash and other necessities, with a total value of over 24 billion VND. The entire unit received support for more than 100 students in social security programs, with a total support budget of over 2.4 billion VND. The military-civilian medical station combined to organize medical examinations, treatment and medicine for 15,402 people, and presented 700 health insurance cards, worth 1.2 billion VND.

Lieutenant Colonel Nguyen Van Hiep praised the contributions of individuals and collectives to the overall achievements in implementing the two emulation movements in the period of 2021 - 2025. At the same time, he requested agencies and units to continue to thoroughly grasp and seriously implement the National Target Program on new rural construction and sustainable poverty reduction; regularly coordinate with localities to implement the two emulation movements associated with the movements "All people unite to build a cultural life", "Join hands to eliminate temporary and dilapidated houses nationwide", "Border guards participate in developing synchronous and modern infrastructure; practice thrift, fight waste"...

On this occasion, 2 collectives and 4 individuals received certificates of merit from the Provincial Border Guard Command for their outstanding achievements in implementing 2 emulation movements in the period 2021 - 2025.
