On August 11, Minister of Health Dao Hong Lan officially presented the Decision appointing Dr. Duong Duc Hung to the position of Director of Viet Duc Friendship Hospital.
Speaking at the ceremony, Minister of Health Dao Hong Lan emphasized: Viet Duc Friendship Hospital has a long history closely associated with the history of formation and development of Vietnamese medicine.

The Minister hopes that, in his position as the new Director of Viet Duc Friendship Hospital, Dr. Duong Duc Hung will inherit and promote the hospital's tradition, building Viet Duc Friendship Hospital to be worthy of being one of the leading hospitals in Vietnamese medicine.
For Mr. Duong Duc Hung, accepting the position of Director of Viet Duc Friendship Hospital is like returning to a big, familiar "home".
Building and developing the hospital is his wish and also his gratitude to the place he has been attached to since the first days of his career as a surgeon.
Emotionally sharing at the ceremony, Mr. Duong Duc Hung expressed his gratitude to the Minister of Health and the Party Committee of the Ministry of Health for their trust, appointment, and assignment of great tasks and responsibilities.
At the same time, he affirmed that he would devote all his heart, mind and enthusiasm to Viet Duc Friendship Hospital. What the hospital will implement in the coming period is the answer to the promise that Viet Duc Friendship Hospital will always be the leading hospital in the medical industry.
Mr. Duong Duc Hung was born in 1966, originally from Huong Khe district, Ha Tinh province. Before taking on the role of Director of Viet Duc Friendship Hospital, Dr. Duong Duc Hung was Party Committee Secretary, Chairman of the Board of Management of Bach Mai Hospital, Director of the Institute of Medical Examination, Head of the Cardiovascular Surgery Unit, Institute of Cardiology (Bach Mai Hospital).
He is one of the excellent students of Associate Professor, Academician Ton That Bach - Leading expert in Cardiovascular and Hepatobiliary Surgery in Vietnam and the world.
In his profession, Dr. Duong Duc Hung is known as one of the leading experts in the country in cardiovascular surgery. He has directly performed surgery to save many critical cases and participated in training and fostering many generations of resident physicians specializing in cardiovascular surgery, contributing to the development of the cardiovascular surgery profession in Vietnam.
