Hanoi Bus Station Launches Peak Service for Lunar New Year

This morning (January 15), Hanoi Bus Station Joint Stock Company held a launching ceremony for a high-point program to improve the quality of passenger service at bus stations during the Lunar New Year 2025.

Speaking at the ceremony, Deputy Director of the Vietnam Road Administration Phan Thi Thu Hien highly appreciated the bus station management work of Hanoi Bus Station Joint Stock Company.

"Although the unit manages large bus stations in hot, complicated locations with high traffic routes, the leaders of the Vietnam Road Administration have not received any feedback on the quality of the bus stations managed by the company. The bus stations have made efforts to improve quality, open new services, have more VIP waiting rooms, and attract passengers to return to the bus stations," said Ms. Hien.

Mr. Pham Manh Hung - Director of Hanoi Bus Station Joint Stock Company said: The peak time for serving passengers on the occasion of New Year and Lunar New Year is also the time when the Road Law and the Law on Road Traffic Safety and Order come into effect.

"Determined to serve passengers' travel needs well, ensure traffic order and safety on every trip, especially during the Lunar New Year and the 2025 Spring Festival, we launched the program: Peak of improving passenger service quality and propagating the Road Law, the Law on Road Traffic Order and Safety to strictly implement the policies and orientations of the Party and State on ensuring traffic order and safety and the direction of the Ministry of Transport, the Hanoi Department of Transport and agencies at all levels on the plan to serve Tet 2025", Mr. Hung emphasized.

After the launching ceremony, the Hanoi Bus Station Authority and functional forces distributed leaflets to promote the Road Law and the Law on Traffic Order and Safety to drivers, and promoted new regulations such as increasing the age of drivers, not being allowed to drive for more than 4 hours; bus stations must have an electric charging system for electric vehicles, and be allowed to operate shuttle buses, etc.

It is known that recently, Hanoi Bus Station Management Company has established communication channels through social networking platforms: Website, Zalo OA, Tiktok... to spread passenger transport activities at the bus station.

The Company's "Search for bus routes" feature is included in the iHanoi application to facilitate the search of bus schedule information...

Passengers passing through Hanoi bus station during Lunar New Year expected to increase by more than 350%

Regarding the Tet service plan, Hanoi Bus Station Joint Stock Company said that the number of reserve vehicles for the entire Lunar New Year service period is 2,486 vehicles.

Specifically, at Giap Bat Bus Station, the highest number of passengers during peak days is about 20,000/day, an increase of 350% compared to normal days.

Expected number of buses is from 850 - 900 buses/day. The increase in passengers is mainly concentrated on routes of Nam Dinh, Thai Binh, Ninh Binh, Thanh Hoa...

At Gia Lam Bus Station, the highest number of passengers during peak days is about 5,000 passengers/day, an increase of about 250% compared to normal days.

The expected number of buses is 400 buses/day, mainly concentrated on routes such as Hai Phong, Quang Ninh, Bac Giang...

My Dinh bus station has a number of passengers on peak days of about 22,000/day, an increase of more than 350% compared to normal days, with an expected number of more than 950 buses/day, mainly on routes to Hoa Binh, Ha Giang, Lao Cai, Yen Bai, Dien Bien, Son La, Lai Chau, Quang Ninh, Cao Bang...

During the time before Tet, the number of passengers is concentrated mainly on short routes. After the Tet holiday, the number of passengers increases on long routes such as: Ho Chi Minh City, Da Nang, Gia Lai, Buon Ma Thuot... concentrated at Giap Bat Bus Station.

It is known that Hanoi Bus Station Joint Stock Company has requested the Hanoi Department of Transport to issue 300 additional vehicle badges; allowing vehicles with the department's additional vehicle badges to travel within the city to reach bus stations in time to relieve passengers during the Lunar New Year.
